Tipp senior hurling is between Sarsfields, Nenagh, Clonoulty and Toomevara. Cashel in the intermediate as it's Sars second team facing them in the final. Senior football betwen Clonmel Commercials, Moyle Rovers, Loughmore and Ardfinnan.

Midleton into Munster from Cork senior hurling also.

Seems like Crokes were impressive winners yesterday.

Crokes were very impressive alright, but Legion looked off the pace. Last 4 in Kerry has 3 club teams I think? Dingle, Kerins O'Rahillys and Crokes along with East Kerry.

what way do the regional sides work in Kerry, are they players made up from junior and intermediate clubs? Can they represent Kerry in Munster?

AZOffaly

Is this a wind up? :)

The divisional sides in Kerry are made up of clubs who do not/are not entitled to enter the Kerry Senior Club championship. South Kerry, who played yesterday, would be made up of about 8 junior/intermediate clubs.

If a Divisional Side wins the SFC, they CANNOT enter the Munster Club. Kerry has gone through a few variations of how they decide entrants in that case. I believe today it is the winner of the Club Senior championship (a separate competition).

Updated original post today, 1 October.

Any help in filling the gaps will be appreciated.

The part in bold is correct.  The Senior Club winners will represent Kerry if the County Championship is complete and a divisional side has won it.

If the County Championship is not completed, the longest standing club still in the County Championship plays in the Munster Championship (this happened a few years ago when Killarney Legion played in Munster before losing the County Final later).  I think it was Dingle who won the Senior Club the same year.

Not sure what would happen if two clubs got to the final and Munster has to be played first.  Dr. Crokes won the Senior Club this year in case anyone needs to know, and they are in the semi-final of the County Championship v Kerins O'Rahilly's club.  Dingle club play divisional side East Kerry in the other semi-final.

Nenagh were up with us during the summer for a weekend and they're fancying their chances at a crack at Sars. Have they a real chance?

Cork Semi-finals featured a divisional side with a bigger playing pool than most counties outside the traditional hurling strongholds and a University with lads playing who are also playing club championships in their own county which I find really strange. I'd say that's why Midleton are already pencilled in for the Munster Championship

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere before but going to ask anyway.
Are there 3 championships in Kerry?
- "Club" (clubs only?)
- "County" (clubs and Divisional teams?)
- "Divisional" (Divisional only?)

Is it the winners of County that go into provincial championships?

The County Senior Championship includes the 8 clubs in senior football and the 9 divisional teams.
The Senior Club Championship only involves the 8 senior club teams. The lower adult grades operate as clubs only.
Kerry people can answer better re the divisional championships, they do exist for say North, South Kerry etc. but for all divisions I don't know. Also whether they are open to all clubs in the division is another I'm unsure of. When South Kerry won the county title it was the winner of the divisional championship who had the right to decide the Kerry captaincy.

I really should have read back further there!

‎Tickets at €25 for Sunday's Cork hurling final a little pricey?
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose
