Agreed totally Austin

Haven't started yet this year but heard I missed a good one today

Quote from: AustinPowers on July 10, 2024, 06:47:29 PMI couldn't name you  one cyclist but  watching the Tour lately ,  along with great footage of the french countryside is  very therapeutic.
I only got into it last year after watching the documentary on Netflix.
I see there is season 2 which I'm looking forward to watching.

I love watching the Tour. It's not as good as it used to be back in dramatic 90s and 2000s era but it's great watching it every July.

Also, I like Lance Armstrong again 🫣

What's Lance done Jim lol thought that would be a big no no

Saturday seems to be one of the iconic stages, hope to tip in

I've been listening to his podcast and watching the old footage again. Sure I've got over all the scandal now at this stage lol

Quite the comeback from JV there today. Clearly in remarkable shape given the crash.

Maybe a bit of doubt in Pogacar's mind after that. If he can't win this one with the form he's been in and JV's time out, I'm not sure how he ever wins another grand tour they both compete in.

bennydorano

We'll not definitively know unless Pogacar approaches the Tour as his one and only goal for the year like Vingegaard does. Freshness after a bad accident v a (normal person's) careers worth of wins already in the first half of the season.

I think Vingegaard probably wins from here, but I sincerely hope not. Team Pogacar

Big move from Pogacar. Still a lot of racing to go, but that was a hammer blow today.

gallsman

Terrific stuff. Smart tactically for once sending Yates on up ahead and then jumping across to him. 40s a relatively huge margin there.

gallsman

That should be that. JV will have to do the time trial on a dirtbike again to pull this one out of the bag.

Cycling is cruel something, but would be an awful pity if Girmay loses out on the Green.

God bless the hills of Dooish, be they heather-clad or lea,

He is riding really well but needs to ride with his head as well as his legs. Does far to much on the front and maybe attacks a little too often rather than be bit cuter and make one big one count. Dan Martin was similar. But he has to be really pleased with his performance. Hopefully Rafferty will get a tour entry next year but he is young yet. Today is a killer, don't think altitude will affect TP or JV will be cumulative fatigue if either blow in a big way. Remco eyeing 2nd but needs to not blow up himself.
