30k is decent for a young teacher just out of Uni. Last year it was only 23k I think so it was good jump in money. The problem is teaching salary goes up for about 10 years then stops. So effectively you will be at the top of the scale in your early 30s and that's the most you'll get until you retire. A teaching salary is decent money. You'll never be rich but you'll not be poor either. A lot of other professions start to leap frog past teaching salaries after about 10 years.

Must say I really do enjoy Brolly and Fanning's podcast. Some great guests and interesting topics.

Celtic look levels below Villa to be fair. But it was disappointing to see how up for it Villa were compared to Celtic. Villa started with a lot of urgency and Celtic looked like they didn't know what to do. Did well to come back into it but Villa had hit the post and had several good chances too. Expected more tbh.

The before and after.  Hope to have it re-built by September they say.

Is there no way of deflating it? Or some way of making that more secure. Obviously that was an extreme storm but not to say it won't happen again next year when they have it up and running. Awful shame after all their hard work to get that facility.

Would love the gas if they are going to call games off to have the foresight to make an early announcement .

Why would they call the games off?

Might I suggest you look outside.

I think Armagh have about 4 or 5k season ticket holders who have guaranteed tickets for the game?

Disgusting behaviour from her. Can't imagine what it would have been like to be on the receiving end of one of her ridiculous lies. But at the same time I feel uncomfortable with the witch hunt going on. I think she should be arrested and dealt with that way rather than the social media circus. The young girls on tiktok (who all seemed to know her) won't be happy until she comes to some sort of harm. Quite clear the girl is mentally unwell.

Quote from: AllStar15 on January 15, 2025, 11:10:21 AMMR2 - are there any plans for referees to go out to clubs before the season and do an explainer on the new rules? Running my eye down the FAQs (linked below) and any referee is going to have some job this year!

It is totally unfair on referees. Bringing that many rules in at one time was such a stupid decision.

Quote from: marty34 on January 14, 2025, 10:08:01 PMDundee were robbed tonight. Bullied Celtic. Celtic had 83% of possession in first half...with 2 shots.  Dundee had 2 shots also in the first half. WTF?

Brendan Rogers is an average manager.  Needs to starts his strongest team then make subs, as required. Not sure why he chops and changes. Brings Taylor back. He needs to make changes at half-time. Like Ibrox a few weeks ago, he bottled it. Too slow to make the changes. Players are too comfortable under him.

It's clear to me that Idah (£9m) and Trusty (£6m) should be on the bench. Not good enough. Bullied out of it. Trusty is a bombscare. For a big lad, he gets pushed about. Then compare Sutton and Idah...at the same price. Crazy stuff. Poor work there by Celtic's recruitment team. £15m. Yes £15m.

Yang shouldn't start either. Had enough chances.  I think Engels will come good. He's young and takes time to settle but he'll be fine I think.  There's a footballer in there.

My final thoughts is to drop Mc Gregor for a game or 2. It just passes him by. He has no influence on the game. Time on the bench will do him no harm.

Dunno how you think Dundee were robbed?.
BR is an average manager?. How do you work that out?. BTW I'm not saying he's the dogs bollix either...just asking.
There is no winter break this year and players are playing a game every 3-4 days with little recover on heavy pitches, if he doesn't chop and change he will get more injuries and then the situation gets worse.
Idah does not do enough for me TBH, he needs to be doing more and with the chances he gets in Scotland he should be scoring a lot more as for Trusty his performance last night was embarrassing tbh. Knocked off the ball easily and at fault for 2 goals even though Dundee's first two goals were lucky and only the deflections put them on target but they all still count.
I don't rate Yang either and I agree with Cal Mac, people make him out to be undropable and some sort of Roy Keane but I think he's short on pace and height and get's shown up a lot so for me he's not an automatic pick just because he's the captain.

Listened to an interesting podcast from a premier league physio and it gave me a totally different outlook on team selections for those weekend then mid week games. Everything is monitored with these lads! The risk of injury increases massively, especially the likes of a hamstring injury. So I can see why he chops and changes. Saying that Celtic should still have enough to beat the likes of Dundee. I actually thought it was a decent match and Celtic should have had the game wrapped up after the second goal. Stupid goal at the other end straight after and next thing Celtic are hanging on! BR is one of the better managers Celtic have had in the past 20 years. He has the league wrapped up by Christmas. Some of his signings are crap enough. Did we really think Idah was going to turn into a goal machine? He is mediocre at best ffs. Was totally silly signing him for nearly £10m. I am hoping the likes of McGregor is saving his best for the bigger games because he was useless last night.

Careful what you wish for lads with Brendan! There has been some serious shite managers at the club. Brendan is one of the better ones who I'd like to see stay for another while yet!

What's the craic with the Conlan split. I had noticed Mick wasn't  Jamie's wedding so the writing must have been on the wall this past few months.

Are mats mandatory? I enjoy it this time of year, but you definitely need golf boots instead of shoes.

Mats or kick it into the rough. Shite
