Quote from: SaffronSports on March 09, 2025, 06:13:54 PMWhen Armagh were going to Clones they were competing for major honours. Antrim are really struggling and don't need to be having their only advantage taken away.
Clones was basically a home ground for Armagh back then anyway. It's a completely different situation now. It's borderline embarrassing what the Ulster Council is doing. Unfortunately there is an unpleasant element within the Armagh support and it's not the buckfast brigade

Who are they?
The same c***ts that cry when GAA clubs distribute tickets to fully paid GAA members ahead of the general public.

The fact that they exert time and energy following the county team vs very little/none towards their own club may just be coincidence.

I think yous have it worse than other counties for this here craic. These fan pages that crop up everywhere a dead giveaway as to who would close the curtains if the club were playing out the back, I don't see too many of these for other counties.

In fairness, Armagh having unreal support is not a new thing, I just think with the Cross dominating element you have a lot more county only supporters. I don't have a problem with it, but they do need to pipe down from time to time and get off the high horse, the wheels of Armagh GAA will keep turning without your 5 posts a week on the trip to Tralee or Castlebar.

Quote from: ClubScene13 on March 09, 2025, 08:24:44 PMWould the U20 panel be named anywhere? They have Down away in first championship game in 10 days time and I don't think I had seen it anywhere

Would like to see it plus the full Minor panel too. Don't know why these things are always shrouded in secrecy.
Maybe it is hidden somewhere in Muskrat's X? Tyrone County GAA website is a total disgrace. If like you don't subscribe to Muskrat's X it is really hard to find lots of Tyrone GAA info that should be readily available.

Who?

Quote from: Wildweasel74 on March 09, 2025, 04:27:00 PM6 goals, but can't do it, when it counts. Clare I doubt have to look where all those  goals came from.

How did you work that one out, they lost the All Ireland Final by a point in extra time having twice beaten 5 in a row chasing Limerick???

Who's supposed to be there or thereabouts at U20 this year? Tyrone / Derry still the teams to beat?

Was it Armagh minors that went on the run last year or 2023?

Quote from: Dreadnought on March 04, 2025, 12:35:35 PMPlayed last year when just turned 40. More to try keep things going. We've lost a lot of players. Missus thinks I'm mad, but just doing my bit until we have enough coming up under

Dreadnought as in Mullahoran? I thought you were a big enough outfit

I think the comparison to Darragh Canavan is the right one to make when talking about Eoin McElholm. Took Canavan a while to find his feet and get going at senior county level, it's a massive jump.

At his own age group, and anytime I've seen him play for Loughmacrory seniors, McElholm is a class act. Time required, and the terrible weather conditions league football is played in doesn't help either.

Quote from: Around the glens on March 03, 2025, 02:13:17 PMU20s beat offaly in a friendly yesterday. There'd plenty of talent coming through.

Offaly have x10 players up with their senior panel going for promotion out of 1B. Still a good win but important caveat

Quote from: Schkite on March 02, 2025, 10:17:26 PMWild game in Drogheda earlier. Monaghan looked like they had to wrapped up midway through the 1st half, but a combination of taking the foot off the gas and Louth stepping it up, and we looked to be in a bit of bother.

Few late points helped to ease the nerves. Just goes to show with these rules and a good free taker, that you'll rarely be completely out of a game. I think Mulroy hit 7 pts in 5 minutes midway through the 2nd half and a peno not long after (think he hit something like 1-12 from placed ball, though not sure I'd agree with all those calls). No harm to shake off any complacency Monaghan may have had, with a winner takes all tie against Meath coming up. Whoever wins that is surely promoted. We're shooting the lights out in Div 2 this year, but conceding alot more than usual too. All of a sudden, with a few exceptions its a young enough looking Monaghan side with alot of fresh blood in several areas. Would be no harm to be in Div 2 for another year, but you wouldn't say no to promotion.

I'd love to see Mulroy's scores from play this past few seasons compared to some of the other elite forwards. The vast majority / all of his tally seems to come from dead ball most weeks. That is a great asset to have just wouldn't put him in that top bracket given his general output from play

Best ignored, was shown a few comments this evening, know a couple of the posters, don't go to games and to see they were limited footballers would be very kind... Ballaches

Tyrone's Facebook has been the same this years, it's where the air heads congregate..

I'm open minded to most of the rules but the advanced mark is a total non-event. They probably think they're better to encourage the kick inside than to not encourage it, but it's having little to no impact

Brendan Cawley in charge on Sunday, looking ominous..... hopefully Galway are in second gear with their points on the board, if they're at full pelt I can't see us getting anything. They've beaten us in the league in 2023 and 2024 and the meeting before that was the tanking down there in 2020

Quote from: clonian on February 20, 2025, 11:23:16 AMI saw Niall Morgan getting a bit of stick on twitter for saying he wouldn't want to go back to being 'just a goalkeeper' anymore in the Irish Examiner. Wooly leading the pile on too. It seems strange that the best actual goalkeeper out of them doesn't want to do the goalkeeping bit. How many more years would Niall have realistically - especially playing the way he wants to?

I still maintain as Tyrone get better he'll have less of a role up the pitch than he does currently.

The other point is young keepers won't play because they can't run up the pitch - bollox lads. I would say more keepers went to soccer over the last 10 years because most goals were handpassed around them and palmed in.

Rent a quote Morgan. What about keeping the head down for 2 weeks or so would that be too much to ask.
