I've only seen them interviewed  briefly on the late late show , so I know  very little about them

What are they? Rappers? Singers? Do they read  poetry?

Is it like being  at a Wolfe Tones concert?

Quote from: Fogarty on April 24, 2025, 11:13:45 AMJoe Brolly has a shelf life shorter than bread.
Not that short.. he was a pundit 20 years ago and here we are still talking bout him... Columnist with Sunday Independent and huge following for his podcast. .
Yes, in all those roles he has run out any original thought very quickly. He is the Dealz version of Eamon Dunphy.
Jees! GAA and RTÉ cud do with those two now... like watching paint dry these days. Dunphy probably too old now.
Brolly's podcasts are often very good especially calling out Israeli genocide, the Unionist mindset, this far right surge and does his homework. They have a huge following..

Will Brolly have a podcast this week saying why Meaths win doesn't really matter as it's only Leinster championship.

Then spend the next 40 minutes eulogizing about Pat Gilroy and Jim Gavin?

Brolly's love affair with  Pat Gilroy is  disturbing

Quote from: Grace Murphy on April 27, 2025, 10:31:37 AMI thought he was at the inner D when he kicked it? As he didn't appeal at all.

There's no appeals accept it or give away a possible 2 points, Gough showed yesterday refs now have been given carte blance in matches without fear of anyone on or off the field questioning them, he has some abysmal calls yesterday no doubt get an All Ireland though, shocking they are now King makers.

Yes, I agree. Some of his decisions were  absolutely baffling yesterday.  Must be so frustrating for  players, and they  dare not question his decision for fear  of a card or free moved up.

I mean, a manager  remonstrating on the line , means  a free in front of the posts. Absolute nonsense.

Wouldn't be surprised , if I get  a knock on the door shortly, and  David Gough is stood there, in full kit , showing me a yellow card . That's how mad  these rules have  become.

Quote from: thewobbler on April 27, 2025, 09:51:25 AMSurely I'm not disrespecting Meatloaf's unique sound and showmanship by pointing out that he has at most 6 songs that anyone would short list here?

There's already been  8 shortlisted though  ;)

Not a huge Meat fan. He sure liked a  long song  title though

I'd do anything  for love (but I won't do that)

I think the Pope dying has  diverted attention  from any more  Bee Gees talk.

Anyway , Meat Loaf  is next on the list , so let's  go.....

Ok - the Rafferty incident.....

Can the keeper touch the ball  at all in that instance? With head or  feet, say?

Could he stand in front  of the opponent, shielding the ball (without touching it)?

Surely shouldering the  Tyrone player is allowed?

It's all very  bizarre. Or is that the whole point?

Media make her out to  be unstable, a liar and attention seeker , so that people roll their eyes and think, hmm maybe the whole Prince Andrew  story was nonsense?

The BBC headline didn't beat about the bush: "...Dies by suicide". Would it not usually be "dies suddenly" or "found dead"?  Usually if it was a suicide , reports would tend to be more sensitive, and  not even mention the  cause of death, leaving you to read  between the lines.  They obviously couldn't help themselves here

Quote from: dec on April 25, 2025, 06:53:39 PMI managed to get my payments in before the deadline to get credits going back to 2006. When I checked online the records did not show me with the credits. I called, they had received the money, but because of the flood of payments the estimate is currently 60 (sixty) weeks before the money will be assigned to the correct years.

I paid a gap  from  2007 online, and that year is  now full. Think  that was class 2

Another year I had to pay class 3 (can't remember  why, but that's what they told me when  I phoned). Paid it online too , it's gone out of my bank  but that year hasn't been  updated yet. I'm assuming it might take a few weeks, so I'll check on  it down the line

So your situation sounds  similar to mine there

Edit: 60 weeks??? What the....?

Quote from: AustinPowers on April 25, 2025, 01:05:25 AMIf a neighbour's tree  falls down into your garden, legally who is responsible for  clearing it up?

Also, if said tree happens to  damage a fence/shed etc,  how do things stand then?

Asking for a friend (no, really).
If the tree is clearly in their land I assume all cost is theirs. If it's part of a boundary its prob 50/50 . That's if you have a decent neighbour though.

Yeah  the tree is  clearly on the neighbours land.

I don't think there is much other damage  judging by the photo  I was sent. It's more the clearing  up that's the issue.  It's not a massive tree but it's not a  tiddler either.

The neighbour  doesn't actually live next door (its  just a field), and  I believe he's elderly  and not in great health, so  it sounds like it could be a whole palaver , as it would take  a chainsaw

But as much as we moan 79 is very good for the year.

As I said the production is good and the pundits are more up to date. The Comms are good too.

I'm heading to more games this year so didn't get it mind.

Who are  the usual  pundits there?

Missed Gal-Ros last Sunday  on RTE but  tuned in for analysis after. It was  very dull.

Quote from: Truth hurts on April 23, 2025, 02:45:21 PMCan you buy stand alone games on GAA +, like on Tyrone TV or Down TV, Just pay for 1 game?

There's an offer that you can buy 3 games for €24 and you can use them whenever you want or just pay €12 per game as you want.

Is there a list of the other games to be  shown on Gaago?  You could buy the 3 game  option, and your team might never feature  again
Could you not just watch other teams play then?

Ugh, that  feels like such a chore.

I honestly  find it difficult sitting through matches that I have no investment in, except  for maybe AI semis and finals.
