Aye they are. Had a quick glance last night, and I think they only play 2 games in the 20/20, which begs the question what's the point. Obviously they may progress to the latter stages and there will be more games, but unlike the 50 over version where teams get at least 150 overs of top class cricket, it doesn't help development as much.

QuoteIreland clinched a six-wicket win over Uganda to secure a place in the Super Eights at the World Cup qualifiers.

The Irish bowled out Uganda for 155 and Gary Wilson's 61 and 44 from William Porterfield helped Phil Simmons' side reach their target in the 41st over.

Four Andrew White wickets helped mop up the Ugandan tail in Krugersdorp.

Porterfield and Wilson put on 68 for the first wicket and despite four dismissals, the unbeaten Irish were never under any serious pressure.

The Irish defeated Scotland in their opener on Wednesday before easing to victory over Oman a day later.

In addition to White's four wickets, Boyd Rankin (2-43), Alex Cusack and Kevin O'Brien claimed dismissals with Cusack also notching a run-out at the Stan Friedman Oval in South Africa.

Captain Junior Kwebiha top-scored with 51 for Uganda.

Joel Olweny contributed 40 but the other only Ugandan batsman to reach double figures was Nandi Kishore who scored 14 as the Africans were bowled out in the 45th over.

Porterfield scored a brisk 44 from 37 balls before his dismissal and while Eoin Morgan (13) departed with the score on 91, a 48-run partnership between Wilson and Niall O'Brien ended any prospect of an Irish defeat.

Wilson was caught and bowled for 61 by Akbar Baig and while Andre Botha (7) quickly departed, Kevin O'Brien's massive six sealed Ireland's win.

Saturday's victory guarantees the Irish a place in the Super Eights even though they have two more more first-round group games.

Ireland face Canada on Monday before their final group game against Namibia on Wednesday.

Four advance from Ireland's group, and Ireland have beaten the other top four so far. If this stays the same, Ireland carrying 6 points into the super 8 section of qualifying.
What this means that Ireland have one foot into the World Cup!
