And so we meet again. Two evenly matched sides - either capable of beating the other.

McGee, probably the dirtiest defender in Ulster since Gerry McCarville, misses out but it won't make much of a difference. Expecting a better display from Monaghan than last year's Ulster Final.

A few weeks out...Monaghan will be favourites but the Aristocrats will be going to Clones thinking that they'll upset the odds. The league game showed there's is no gulf in class between the two sides. The Down attack caused the Monaghan defence a lot of problems and Down won most of the primary possession in midfield.

Monaghan will need to be on top of their game to win this.

Both sides line meet after winning their opener.

When did Monaghan last beat Cork? I was at an All Ireland semi final defeat to them back in '88. Saw them relegate us in 'blayney a lock of years ago and we lost to them (narrowly) after conceding a 3 soft goals last time we met. Surely time to get that monkey off the back.

Why are we playing this in Castleblayney? What are the County board thinking of not playing it in Clones?

Do any Cork supporters use GAA Board?

Before the Ulster Final a vigil is taking place to show Ulster's solidarity with the people of Gaza.

We're looking for as many people as possible to wear their county colours.

So if you're going to the match, from Donegal, Derry, Antrim, Down, Armagh, Monaghan, Cavan, Fermanagh and Tyrone, wear your county jersey and assemble between 1.30pm-3.45pm. at the old Largy School next to the football field.

It wasn't exactly a classic the last time we me in a wet, wintry Breffni Park, where Cavan ran out clear winners. Despite losing badly, Monaghan got promoted and won the division outright, while Cavan remain in Division 3.

This game has a lot more riding on it and hopefully in better conditions. Last time out key Monaghan players were targetted and reacted badly. Will it happen again?

Will  the Cavan blanket smother Monaghan's attack? Will Monaghan's defence smother the young Cavan guns?

Neither side will care about the quality of the football. The result is all that matters.

Bring it on.
