very rich in kildare? , good, its about time you done something with the toilets under the stands at newbridge, i commented to my friend during the league that it resembled a cow barn, some set up for a county overloaded with money, you concentrate less on the horses and more on football you be landed lol

GAA Discussion / Re: Cavan v Kildare

i would put them ahead of kerry at the minute yes, on their performance against cork, Kildare likely would have won yesterday  if they kept 15men, the well has run cold for kerry, they will be there for the last 8 but have been on the slide awhile, an old team which hasnt rung the changes like tryone, walsh and moran at midfield and a few new faces will bring Kerry back to the fold in a few yrs! Any team that beat kildare been at the top end of business come the crunch games, Tyrone, Donegal, and Dublin put them out but they are never far of the mark!! They have been beat by down, meath and louth so they do tend to blow hot and cold

G you Kildare men are sore on your own team, maybe u should support Derry, kildare although terrible yesterday are still in with  a good shout this year, had Flynn not been sent off i think kildare would have won the game, the meath goal on tv last nite seemed to come from a foul not given, Kildare are in a better position than most this year with only cork and Dublin ahead of them and maybe donegal even with them. I see McGeeney getting the blame for the donegal lost last year, i thought that game hinged on a legally good goal been disallowed!! Kildare are dangerous but your team lined out wrong, johnny Doyle and kavanagh should be in the full forward line playing off o`connor, any breaks from the big full forward when to meath men as he had no support round him, play 2 out and out midfielders, O`connor should have been moved to midfield yesterday to counter the big men no 8, they will beat cavan easy enough i think as they be like a wounded lion, and johnston wouldn't be seen to the next game but you need him before the years out whether people are happy with it or not!! Before McGeeney i would have said kildare were on the slide, he turned it round, the fact that over the past 3-5 yrs there have been very good Tyrone, Kerry, Dublin and cork teams with maybe better footballers than kildare is the reason they have not won not McGeeney, Tyrone and Kerry have fallen away abit and kildare would edge them, Dublin and cork are ahead of them and it be all down to catching either on a bad day or a exceptional day for kildare, the year not over for kildare yet!!

Donegal got the defence to hold Down, the same cant be said vice versa, too much been put into the 2nd half against monaghan and no one really looking at the way down played against monaghan in the 1st half! the way donegal play may keep the game tight, but cant help but think donegal will win pulling up

The situation is quite farcical, but the kildare county board exploited a loophole in the rules, kinda in a way the transfer was delayed on purpose until the Kildare 1st round championship was played by croke park, and the committee was happy they pulled a fast one delaying Johnston playing to next year! but alias they got round it and nobody coming out of this smelling like roses, a quick transfer although wrong would have been best all round as he would have got it sooner or later once residency was proven

Other counites play gaelic football, Ulster is currently trying to bring in rubgy leagues defensive lines and breaks as their style of gaelic football, so not only cant we play it, the games are terrible and none are value for money, hell am just gona blame Jim

Guys Armagh has un realistic expectations, up to 1999, Armagh hadn't won an ulster title since `82, you have been spoiled with success, taking for granted that's good teams come along on a regular basis, it doesn't happen like that!good teams come and go, down and Derry had good teams in the early nineties, should have won more but didn't, though they expect the current teams to be as good as previous teams, football is not like that! Longford from div 3 beat us last night, i keep saying that shouldn't have happened but the reality is i cant except we are not any good any more, and keep thinking of days gone by, playing in Div 1/2 doesn't mean we are so far ahead of div 3 teams that its only  a matter of turning up, it doesn't happen it soccer as weaker teams turn over better teams on a regular basis. Giving up supporting your team will not help, supporters support their team through thick and thin or you end up like Derry with only 200 supporters going to games!!

G Myles who are you to say Seanie Johnston ain't a cavan man at heart any more, he played county football for cavan for a few years, alot more than i think you did, the fact he playing in kildare now make him any less of a cavan man that you, hes ended up at Kildare, he ain't the first man to transfer about, Rory Gallagher done the rounds as has plenty of others, Kildare in with a serious shout this year and i think this has annoyed people more as he could make a difference!!I guy who played for my local team played Derry minor one year, Tyrone U-21 the following year after transferring down the road, thought he was wrong but didn't stop me talking to him,

lucky enough with the weather down at the port the day outside a severe downpour and thunder which postponed things for an hour! get up early the mor for the early start, good atmosphere and fairly big crowds, could do with out all the union jacks lined the whole way to the club on the lamp posts along the road, saying the golf heavily televised on TV

for years penalties were always expected to be scored, so often that it always came down to the last penalty, normally your best penalty taker is left to the end, these days so many defenders are taking penalties that's it barely comes down to the 5th kick, your best penalty taker need be in around no.3 i think, there no pressure on the first ones as the pressure bigger nearer the end, as for the game Ronaldo played quite good, don't like him as he plays up his free kicks to much and no variations from free to bring in other -players but i thought he was one of the better players on view the nite, at least Portugal pressed them in a way i always though most teams should do against a fancy passing team and fairly rattled them too, Spain edges it though but i don't think they beat Germany if they get through, cant win a game without  a out and out goal scorer, i play torres in the final

yeah good goal that one, but i dont think its the one, this keeper came straight down the middle beating about 6/7 men, it was unreal at the time, in saying that, thats some goal the keeper scored in the 1st clip
