Not following what you're saying here. There must also be a minimum of three defenders in your own half also - but more likely 4 or 5 when you're attacking.

Quote from: J70 on October 10, 2024, 03:06:52 PMIt will be some advantage for club teams with (thinking of home) county-level long range shooters like Michael Langan, Ciaran Thompson, Michael Murphy and Paddy McBrearty. They'll be racking up the scores against blanket defenses.

Will this force teams to 'mark' them?

Why would it require more attention than it does now - those type of shooters already get additional coverage in those areas for one pointers. I don't think it changes much, if anything. The two point arc will make no difference to the pattern of games.

The only rule proposed that addresses blanket defenses is the 3 up & back rule so that scoring areas can only be covered by 11 outfield players instead of 14.

There seems to be a misconception that this will create a 3v3 game at times but there is virtually no chance of that given that teams can keep as many back as you like.

The fact that Rashford is still getting a game is the key indicator for me.

He has no game smarts, no end product and has a terrible attitude and work rate. If you're there a month you would make a statement about the culture you want to create by leaving him in the reserves and playing anyone other than him - anyone who will give you a shift.

Playing Rashford every week is a sackable offence for a United manager.

Quote from: imtommygunn on September 24, 2024, 10:22:07 AMWhat have they - 3 out of 5 minor titles? (Though they have yet to transition that to u20 mind you which I think needs addressed).

Definitely talent in the county.

What has Doran done before Slaughtneil?

I thought Doran was coach at Slaughtneil and someone else (club man?) was manager?

There should be more clubs in most towns and surrounds to give more people the opportunity to play.

Oisín Conaty young footballer of the year and Barry McCambridge player of the year

I don't see any way Mogan or Mulroy get all stars for 2024.

McCole a much stronger Donegal candidate in defence and there are several better cases in attack than Mulroy.

Could we send a bill to whoever whoever was responsible for not getting the original planning process done correctly?

That is definitely the plan though, as you say, it'll take a bit of work.

I guess if counties set out say 3 games in January as their season prep series and market accordingly it could work.

Easier to sell Armagh v Dublin than Longford v Leitrim. I guess counties would be agreeing to split gates.

Well let's say...

Armagh v Dublin
Armagh v Tyrone
Armagh v Mayo

Advantages I've heard...

Counties can plan their schedule themselves, including making plans around 3rd level.
Counties can host games and take a gate*

* this is the big one.

Any guardian mandating physical or chemicallly induced change in a minor as part of a transgender process should be proscuted to the full extent of the law.

Adults can make their own decisions but immature and developing young people should not have this option.

CE still favs obviously but I'm sure Cross not too worried. Clann Na Gael jumping about as if they won the championship. Cross made wee boys of them when it counted last year.

Clann Eireann win pulling up this year. CnG and Cullyhanna be strong too. We flattered last year and it won't happen this year.
One swallow doesn't make a summer and all that. Two O'Neill's still in holiday mode and can't blame them. Minus AK and Jamie from last year. Still adjusting. I'd say Sarsfields will get an almighty hammering next week.

Where is Jamie?
