Quote from: Look-Up! on Today at 09:13:12 AMJoselu is something else though. Doesn't matter if it's the Bernabeu or Stoke on a wet windy night, the man delivers!!!

More like he couldn't do it on a wet windy night in Stoke. Crazy that 2 failed former Stoke strikers were leading the line at the end of a Champions League Semi Final.

Quote from: square_ball on May 08, 2024, 10:49:14 PMLinesman shouldn't have flagged but Madrid players had stopped playing before the ball ended up in the net so who knows how it would have panned out.
The linesman flag carries no weight, players should only play until they hear the ref's whistle.
In any VAR the linesman's flag would be ignored.

Yeah you're right Madrid players did play to the whistle. Whistle went, they stopped playing and De Ligt finished it. I just think it's not the big injustice it's being made out to be.

That's a howler from Neuer. And now no Kane on the pitch for extra time.

McBrearty will be getting kicked off the squad for telling something out of school ;D

All German final on the cards?

Jones made a good go of it in the finish up. Think a lot of the criticism he's getting on socials isn't warranted. Good player. Hopefully he kicks on now next season.

Wilson is filling the togs here. He will probably scrape over the line but hasn't been impressive this evening at all.

Hit a couple of great free kicks. Doesn't take away from the fact that he is a real weak link for Galway.

GAA Discussion / Re: Joe Brolly

Quote from: Snapchap on May 03, 2024, 12:56:37 PMThe episode also contains Joe telling us how he told txt a friend before the Derry Donegal game to predict that Donegal would win using "a ploy to go for lobbed goals when the keeper comes to midfield". Weirdly, he never once made that prediciton in public before the game. Just told us about how he predicted it in the aftermath and how obvious it was.

Not a friend but of course with Joe it has to be a recent county player who just happened to message Joe to ask for his prediction. In this case it was Ryan Jones from Fermanagh who of course after the match text Joe to say that he was absolutely correct in his prediction.

If Jim goes up against his favourite Pat Gilroy later in the year, Joes head may well explode not knowing which side of the fence to go.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on May 03, 2024, 11:46:55 AMOnly a money making machine if people are going over the limit?

I've been done many times with the cameras over the years, no excuse, speeding and wrong, do I blame the camera for being there? No that's all on me. Anyone that thinks they can speed 'safely' is crazy

If they put the average speed cameras on the road would it make it safer? Wouldn't know the stats on the accidents  in regards to speeding, carelessness, recklessness and so on, but in the meantime till its sorted it needs some attention.

What stage is it at with planning and at what point will they government say we've taken into considerations your issues of not having it but we are going ahead with it anyways?

No issues with speed camera being out on various parts of the road.

Do they ever publicise cause of accidents? Would it not be a good thing to say how these accidents happen? Like is it speeding/overtaking/other cars pulling out/phone use etc? Lessons then maybe learned by future users of the road which may prevent such accidents - new road or not. I do appreciate it is a sensitive subject with loved ones of those involved in these incidents.

This. I may have half started it so I feel partly responsible 🤭

I had other points to raise but I'm fcuked if I'm going there now lol

I've looked at certain sports/sport stars over the years and thought they were boring twats, in snooker ya had Steve Davis and Stephen Hendry, just machines at the time and focused on nothing else, Golf/tennis was the same with the newer generation, but since Netflix has done various inside documentary type shows its really brought about a different perspective on these sports and sportsmen/women, in a more positive light

Not that I think Netflix will go near snooker just yet as the global appeal might not be there.

But loving the banter here though ;D

Snapchap will be straight on to Netflix to make sure they feature Mark Williams ;D

Not sure what the issue is. I just assumed Ruairi McCullagh overtook him and he was dropped.
