Hey boys, I live in Nottingham so I'm totally out of touch with the Club Championship, Heard that the Fung beat Rosenallis by 3 points, was anyone at it to let me know how they hurled, and could they beat the Harps, looks to me like a nailed on draw. Please tell me, is obular good enough for the county, 21 years old, but if good enough, he is old enough, and is young Byrne good enough to be given a shot, at half, or probably corner forward, he seems to know where the onion bag is. Feedback please and we'll done the Town as we need them back and competitive at senior

Also, regarding a County manager, I would be hoping we get a good KK man, 2019 with Eddie brannon will live long in the memories of many Laois patriots. I often still watch the 13 minute clip on YouTube of the Dublin game, what a display, running off the shoulder, accurate hand passing, Cha annoying the whole Dublin team. Dunphy scoring from everywhere and running after a ball that seemed to be a lost cause and charging in and causing a tap in fir AD. Bring in a Cat, they will get those boys hurling

Imagine Byrne will get a run soon enough, though don't think Obular is good enough for senior inter-county, hurling-wise.
Wasn't at the Rosenalis game, but really good to see Portlaoise back. They're qualified for at least a quarter-final now. Good to see Tommy Fitz doing well with his own club, and also good to see James Conroy doing it at senior level!

Thanks for that, I have a couple of questions for you. Does the Fung have any other hurlers good enough for the County, I know that they are a bit light, they always were, But with my old school buddy PJ Peacock there, I know that he will get them hurling. Secondly what is the story in Abbeyleix group, I know that they lost the first and won the second. I'm in England so I don't know if the Harps won their first, so is it a case that the winner gets a quarter final or are the losers gone. Finally I totally agree with you regarding the Town, the County needs a senior hurling club in the county town,As you get older (52)you view life through a different lense and bitterness goes out the window, with most people but I worry that they haven't won a minor title in over two and a half decades, and with respect I don't know if they have a conveyer belt coming through the system to insure that they can reach the summit anytime soon, the great Portlaoise teams of the late 70s till the early nineties were brilliant. I remember players like Brian bergin,Niall Rigney and his brother, pat critchley stand John Taylor, ( one of the greatest half backs in the country)I could mention at least another but I'll leave it with Billy Bohan, I really do hope they make it, for the sake of Laois hurlin, parochialism ruined laois for 30 years. It should be an honour to put on the County Jersey and not a funeral mindset, but I have noticed a change in commitment lately. Let's hope and pray that it stays that way.

Unless Rosenalis beat Ballacolla (unlikely) then both the The Harps and A'leix will be in a quarter-final.
Portlaoise's underage 'conveyer belt' is nothing to write home about, but it has improved a bit lately. They're now competing in the 'A' competitions, and some bit of work has been put in underage whereas before it wasn't good at all. They'll always have one or two decent hurlers, though. The next game between their seniors and Camross should be interesting!

You must know better the inner workings of the Tipp County Board than anyone else if you think Drom-Inch are "automatically back in Junior" in 2025

Once they sort themselves out, he will return to his home club

Much better to grow your own
