Quote from: Milltown Row2 on December 12, 2024, 03:02:54 PMS'niel were going up against a confident Portaferry team who felt they left one behind last year and were looking to improve on that. They started that game against S'neil and backed up that confidence with a quick start.

Unfortunately they were caught at the end when S'neil got to grips with them.

Sarsfields to their credit have taken advantage of a BG bad day and the fact that they are not even Cork champions  they are in a great position from the start of their season in Cork. Cork teams have not been able to get up to the standards in Munster for many years and this is a huge chance to win something this year.

Hopefully S'neil have ironed out any injuries, tidied up the tactics and play the game they did against Cushendall, which for 90% of the game was faultless.

Sarsfields in the game before BG were standard enough at this level, no big shakes but fair play to them in the Munster final, regardless of how BG played they had that one game when it clicks.

Haven't seen Loughrea for a while now, but they are always a threat in Galway, managed to get over the line against St Thomas's and that is the only line of form you can take from them. As for NF, well, winning Leinster is a good test, though this year the Kilkenny winners weren't great, leaving it open for Dublin teams to give it a lash.

Think 4/7 for NF is about right and plus 2 for S'neil at evens is decent

Think Carey are going to get it hard against the Cork champions and St Lachtains should have just enough in the other intermediate

It was Cappataggle who beat St Thomas's. Nonetheless they beat the team that beat the team. Galway teams are always teak tough and I'm sure they'll be hard beat but have an inkling that Na Fianna will win the whole thing.

Sorry my mistake, but yeah teams coming outta Galway are well harden, just no line of form to gauge when hitting the All Ireland semi.. thankfully there are no gimmies in Ulster for past while

Interesting match ups for the semi-finals.

Definitely think SN would happier getting Sars than BG but that freshness might help Sars. Intriguing contest.

The other one is hard to call as well, here's hoping for two cracking games.

Blowitupref

Intermediate All Ireland semi-final result.

Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry (Galway) 2-19 Rathnure (Wexford) 2-11

Galways champions play Cathaoir an RĂ (Antrim) or Watergrasshill (Cork) in the final who play tomorrow.

Junior All Ireland semi final result

Russell Rovers (Cork) 2-22 Ballinascreen (Derry) 1-9

Other semi final tomorrow.  Easkey (Sligo) v St Lachtain's (Kilkenny)

Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Milltown Row2

Russell Rovers were always big favourites and that's how it panned out, big lead early doors and didn't let up.

Watched the Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry game and fancied them to win, but they only really pulled away when they had the man advantage and a late goal put a better look on that finish

They'll put up a good show in final, I hope Carey come through but it will be a tough one for them

Did you get a good look at the red card in that intermediate game? Did he hit the fella between the legs? Just saw it on tiktok but camera shot was far away in the one I seen.

Tough ask for Carey but they're a hard team to beat. It's been a great year on the pitch and a tough one off it. Club rivalries aside I'd love to see them do it.

Didn't realise Rovers had Keneflick and Beausang in their team.

Watched it on the replays while game was on but the ref was quick and the only player annoyed was the lad that did it, the line didn't really get that worked up, but yeah I'm not 100% so either he seen something or his linesmen did

The red was very harsh you can slow it down on Twitter here it was a shoulder to the chest and the RR man went down holding his head.

Absolutely stupid by the goalkeeper but it wasn't a red.

Having said that they were much the better team with the extra man. Hard to argue we'd have won with the full complement but we'll never know!

Milltown Row2

That's ridiculous... that's an arm over the shoulder, a good talking to and a yellow card at worst... and no one would have blinked, also I'd have said to the lad on the ground to get up.

All that said, absolutely no need to do that and give a ref a needless decision to make

Sarfield No.6 just after getting booked, then drags down Rodgers off the ball just after it. Ref notified of it, but does f**k all. cause he just booked him.

Decisions from the ref have swung slaughtneils way since he started that tussling

Definitely. Pulled Rodgers down off the ball, and the ref goes to speak to both of them!
