Contrary to what he said last week, Sky have reported Van Gaal as saying that he does intend to make more signings this summer. He now knows more about his squad, and will inform all players where they are in his plans when they return from US..Have heard that he gave a good bollicking to Nani and Zaha last week.

The version I had heard was that the squad were given a day off during the tour and to a man bar Zaha they all went to the gym and trained in the morning.

Jones and Smalling were  both very poor it would be a big risk to play with just 3 at the back, and those 2 as part of the 3. A few defenders to be signed by the end of the month I'd imagine.
