Probably but at least it extends the season to the end of May should they overcome Coventry city managed by a certain Mark Robins. Season was done and dusted with a defeat today, can't see Chelsea troubling City.

 

Up there with the all time classic cup games. Tbh didn't think that group of United players had it in them what a way to win and cup magic moment for Amad Diallo.

It could be a big deal for a smaller county but there are no prizes for getting to semi finals. It can often come down to the luck of the draw in a cup competition. The only metric should be when your county last actually won an AI title.

Stand out player on that list when you consider he wasn't deemed good enough for the Mayo 36 man panel last year.  Speaking of panel McStay has said he will now be trimming his panel as the focus goes towards the championship and trip to New York in early April.  If Derry,Monaghan are seeking wins in those remaining games it will likely be a good time to play Mayo.

Said last week it would be 2 or 3 goal margin of defeat so the 3-1 result no surprise. Only surprise was United leading 1-0 at half time and would take City until the 80th minute before going in front. Foden the difference as City appeared to be getting more frustrated and running out of ideas.  Win then sealed in added time with a gift of goal.

That's the injury riddled league campaign over now if it wasn't already, will be 6th place finish at best and it will be FA Cup exit on St Patrick day just a question of the margin of defeat in that one.

Not looking great for Roscommon who have Kerry and Derry in their last 2 matches

Injuries, opt outs has taken its toll on Roscommon and they wouldn't have the strength in depth of other Division one teams. Had two good coaches in Gerry McGowan, Mark McHugh moving on aren't as competitive without them.

As for Mayo they clearly targeted tonights match for two points than against Tyrone in Omagh. I think 8 changes to their team and other than the injured Durcan, D O'Connor that was arguably Mayo's strongest 15 tonight. Boland the one real stand out player for them and it's really bizzare how he wasn't deemed enough for the panel last year.

Can make a strong case that the players downed tools towards the end of Mourinho, Solskjaer time as manager and didn't pick them up at all for Rangnick but I don't think from watching the matches that you can say the players aren't playing for Ten Hag. It's more the reality that injuries has highlighted the lack of quality and strength in depth of the squad. It's a squad filled with players that are either past their best or will never will be good enough. Without Martinez, Shaw they struggle to play out from the back. Without Mainoo in midfield they struggle to string consecutive passes together and without the focal point and work rate of Hollund in the number 9 position it's basically like playing with 10 men.

Low quality match but a hard earned and deserved win in the end, created the best chances in game and eventually took one. Improvement from the league game in the City ground when lost and conceded two goals.

Quarter final exit looks most likely now after that draw and will do well to avoid a trimming speaking of a trimming it should be at least 2 or 3 goal margin victory for the blue half in the Manchester Derby on Sunday.

Kerry are playing with no sweeper plus midfielder  dropping bck, wide open all the time.

Had held Dublin to 0-5 in this 2nd half before that 3rd goal but damage done first half and all night they haven't been able to handle Con O'Callaghan.

That defeat and win for Villa ends whatever slim hope there ever was for a top 4 finish. Fulham deserved their win but the two goals conceded pretty much summed up United this season.  1st truly woeful defending from set piece. 2nd goal when pushing hard for a winner themselves they get caught out on the break, Maguire not wanting to tackle as he was booked and Lindelof couldn't get back as injured taken off soon after.   

Away to Galway this weekend but can't see a win, our record against Galway is terrible, even when they had a bad team.Derry focus on winning their last 2 home games. Dublin may be tough if they need the points.

I would be very surprised if Derry don't win comfortably on Sunday. Yes, they nearly always lose to Galway but Derry are flying with a full team out at the moment while Galway are pretty much down to an FBD league selection. I'm hoping they can somehow keep it competitive for as long as possible.

Derry will probably be missing Lynch, McKinless and Murphy.
This Derry team are in unfamiliar territory in Div1 going up against a team that have the Div1 experience and who generally always beat us.
It's a 50:50 game boys and girls.

In all seriousness, given where we've come from, I don't think any Derry fans are overly confident of any game. We've been beaten so many times in games where we should have won.
I agree, on current form we are favourites for this game - but Galway are no slouches and we are no world beaters (despite the performance against Monaghan last weekend).
There's not the vast chasm between the two that some seem to suggest there is.

I know Derry see Galway as their bogey team over the years but this weekend Galway will be without Damien Comer,Shane Walsh, Jack Glynn,Liam Silke,Cillian McDaid and Matthew Tierney, Paul Conroy very doubtful after going off injured last weekend. So if Derry aren't able to win against Galway team without that amount of first choice players then they'll probably never beat the bogey.

Martinez out replaced by the clumsy and error prone Maguire. Shaw out and replaced by a 4th choice centre back lindelof. Hollund out and will likely be replaced by Rashford who won't put in the work rate of Hollund and Rashford moved from the wing could mean Anthony restored to the starting team.

The one thing the injuries highlights is how weak the squad is with zero strength in depth, Jim Radcliffe and Co need to focus improving the squad starting this summer before even thinking about some state of the art Old Trafford.

Back? He never left. His obsession with me and thinking I'm another poster is a bit wacko. I've all of his accounts blocked ages ago having zero interest in what he has to say. He's near 50 years of age time that Laoislad with his multiple accounts cops himself on than playing a man child on here.

Not much luck with injuries this season and the main reason for such a struggle all season has been the injuries especially with the amount of defenders out. It will be uphill challenge now for top 4/5 without Shaw and Martinez for extended period of time

Shaw and Martinez are huge loses.

A knee injury for Malacia and it required two operations. AWB got injured in training and before the Luton game Ten Hag said he was a few weeks away from returning. Getting the best out of Dalot on the right at the moment.
