How are the RTE lads approaching this? I'm stuck with ITV.
Ray Houghton had to drive like lunatic to get there.

Set piece goal and fine strike in fairness to him.

Moment of truth for England tonight. Will they ever get a better chance or easier route to World cup final? i still remember Bobby Robson walking off the field after the 1990 semi final against Germany shaking his head knowing they had blown not only reaching the World cup final but winning the World cup.  Croatia are no Germany and failure in this semi final will be as much if not more disappointing for the English than 1990 was.

Juventus could win the champions league now.
Could easily have won it this year remember it took a late penalty for Real Madrid to scrape over the line against them. Good signing for Juve 2 or 3 good seasons left in him while massive boots for Real Madrid to fill.

Has Eamo said Pogba was shite yet?
He was impressed by how hard he worked tonight. His raving was about not rating Roberto Martínez as a manager and said that Brazil should have beaten Belgium 6-2

Losing or winning to a set piece is not great but i think France deserved the win on the night.

COMFIRMED: Mayo v Derry U20 All Ireland Semi-Final is next Saturday at 4pm in Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada, Carrick on Shannon. It will be preceded by Mayo v Derry U21 B Hurling quarter final at 1pm.

That's a crazy favourable venue choice for Mayo.
And Kerrys venue choice of Limerick. How come they always seem to get Munster venues for these games?

"poor man's under 21" why so?
Some provincial championships ran of quickly and in the middle of exams. Teams not playing with some of their better players. The lack of interest is alarming as seen with the low attendance at last Fridays Leinster final. I could go on but I'll only upset a few of our residents here that have themselves convinced this new competition is improvement on the last one.

Its a poor mans U21 football championship but FFS the powers to be could have made a better effort than just throwing this competition together. I hope a better effort is made of the competition next year if not its going down the same road as the All Ireland junior championship which i might add had two semi finals on at the weekend and Galway will now play Kerry in the final hands up how many knew those games was on?

Good to see the Rossies beat Armagh and make the super 8's. A loss here isn't the end of the world for either team as there's a decent chance that Roscommon, Tyrone & Donegal will win one game each given the way the fixtures gave worked out.

I'd like to think Roscommon's forwards have learnt from the Galway game but then again Tyrone will have learnt from Galway's first half horror show. I expect Tyrone to win but it won't be a shock if they don't. I just don't know where this Tyrone team are at.
Let's be honest the only horror show in that game was Roscommon shooting or should i say shot selection in the 2nd half. Was nothing horror about Galway's 1st half, Roscommon just played the better football in that half and deserved their lead.

Put yourself in Galway or Donegal's shoes.

Both are expected to lose first time out against Kerry and Dublin respectively.

Galway would then be facing into the bear pit of Newbridge while Donegal then have a losable game in Roscommon.

For me Galway are on a really sticky wicket as regards the fixture schedule.

I think Kildare could take Monaghan next week and if they do, they could put Galway out in Newbridge.

Tyrone's schedule is a good one with a view to them contending for an All-Ireland final place.

They'll beat Roscommon and then have what is effectively a free shot at Dublin in Omagh.

If they come through the group, I feel that free shot at Dublin will benefit them hugely in a semi-final and/or final.

Putting myself in Galway shoes i would have 4 week break while the time round 2 comes around Kildare will be playing in their 5th game in 5 weeks and a fresher Galway should be prevailing there. They then have Monaghan at home to reach the semi final. You can see why the bookies have Galway favourties to finish in the top two in this group.

Tyrone will probably need to win two games i can't see them beating Dublin and Ballybofey is one of the toughest places to pick up a victory

Roll on next week. All 8 teams arrive having put up a very good performance. The first week will be great and the second week will be even better, with all four provincial champions playing away from home. Let's hope there's plenty to play for come the third round.
Are the provincial champions not at home in week 2?
No provincial champs not at home until Round 3.

And can everyone from Ros and Connacht ignore the new pest who has arisen on the Board.
Anyone know what sort of prices they'll be charging.
€35? For seats?
30 i hear. A lot of money for supporters of the last 8 teams to fork out over the next 4 weeks especially if they have young familes and are traveling long distances.

Well done to Connacht's Galway Leinster champions in a game played in Munster.
