BBC deserve great credit for their refreshed program. The referee innovation is a good idea.

Particularly impressed with Sarah Mulkerrins, was no surprise checking her past of being a pro broadcaster. The "explaining for the English/new viewers" was tolerable enough, so long as it isn't always like that.

GAA+ is quite poor on that front, throwing ex and current players into fray results in awful clichéd analysis.

Much more interesting having older experienced heads IMHO. BBC are clearly now interested in providing a good program, and not an afterthought.

Wouldn't agree about Gaa +, hurling anyway, their analysts are light years ahead of the RTE ones in my view. Richie Hogan is really insightful, he did it all but is able to articulate it as well.

Why does it go offline? I'd say once a month with mine, I suppose it take a couple of minutes to hook it back up again but still..

No idea, never used to, router hasn't changed & is close to the ring doorbell. Maybe they just run out of juice after a few years.

I dont think anyone has mentioned it yet but for the people of Glencolumbkille its a 3 hour and 16 minute drive to Casement Park.

It's west Donegal, it's a fair trek to any location for a match

As a scoreboard operator for club championship games and county games I always confirmed at HT the scoreboard was correct.
I always waited on the flag/ref signal to put the score up.

As a coach I always had a mgt member record the score and would always check in on it. I would have also always confirmed with the ref the score at HT and again possibly with a few mins to go if it was tight and I was anything less than 100%.

In this case the game was correct. The venue made a mistake and I think the media copied that.
I would doubt if Kilkenny were all under the impression there was 3 in it. Id guess E Murphy knew. I'd guess some of the mgt knew. It may be that some outfield players didn't but I'd also guess some did - some players are well in tune with all aspects of the game, with some even savvy enough to ask the ref.

But did he? I wouldn't take too much out of what Galvin says.

Well he submitted the incorrect score, it would be a strange thing for Gavin to put to ink if it wasn't true and I would say would be fairly easy to refute.

Looks like RTE & the scoreboard in Croke Park wrong, gave a point for McGraths late wide. Wondered why Kilkenny weee going for a goal with what looked like enough time to get three points

The hurling pod on Off the Ball/Newstalk is free and do a 2nd members one also I think. Paul Murphy and James Skehill the pundits.

Yeah I always liked the Our Game one, Stapleton hasn't been on much this year as he's got a "real" job now aaparently.

Can't agree with the poster above about the Examiner one, too much chat about racing and "craic" & can't have Landers at all, it's almost as if he's playing a character.

A lot of the reports are done by PROs or someone from the home club, they obviously can't be at every game
