Keeping SAF on payroll like that points to a shocking ethos, likely only the tip of the iceberg over the years between himself and other directors and hangers on

FA making their move for Tuchel, Fergie exits stage left, does this open the door for Roy Keane?

Certainly 100 times more likely than it was 2 weeks ago, I'll say it again, 90% of fans would have Keane over EtH in a heartbeat, bar the Ruud factor I think it's a no brainer

SAF off the payroll from the end of the season, shocking that he's been kept on this long and to the extent that he has, for all his managerial genius and club icon status he sure knew how to put himself first and foremost, bleeding another £20-30m from the club, the rot is deep at Utd, but a positive sign that a tough decision like this has been taken, or maybe an easy decision that needed someone with the balls to make it

Decoupling league and champ leads to a high proportion of meaningless games, notwithstanding the grading fakery, each to their own

I still don't get the issue here. What's the problem with going to a different province to play if yours has no competition? We see this regularly. Galway and Antrim in Leinster hurling for example. So what is your huge big massive problem that you've been harbouring for these 10 long years?

Hollow victories
Who cares? Bar you of course. You still haven't said what the issue is by the way...

Longford juniors care me thinks, yis cooked the books
Careful checking your change in Cavan, they might slip ye an oul AI-junior champ medal by mistake

Quote from: marty34 on October 13, 2024, 11:05:26 PMBit mad in all fairness - 2 teams in the Top 6 in Cavan Div. 1 league football are Intermediate and Junior Champions.

Not even mentioning senior.

That's incorrect Arva finished 6th. Knockbride finished joint second bottom and got relegated after a playoff.

Ballymacelliot in Kerry finished 8th in division 1 and couldn't even make the junior final down there.

So it happens in other counties. As the Down poster mentioned there too.

But you're all just on the wind up at this stage though haha.

Arva finished on same points as Knockbride. 11pts each. Arva were in 6th position.

That's from the Cavan website.

YET Lacken, who finished bottom on Opts, without a win, didn't get relegated.

So 3 teams in the Top 6 of Cavan Division 1 are Senior, Intermediate and Junior.

Only the bottom 4 teams were in the relegation playoff so 9 teams weren't. They were some extra league games ran because of Lacken conceding and as I said earlier f**king up the table so you need to take a pinch of salt when reading the table. 9 teams finished above the 4. Ballyhaise, last year's intermediate champions were in the relegation final with them. Maybe someone else from Cavan can explain how they reached the final standings but you'll find there's little interest or memory bar the league final and relegation final.

Championship in Cavan is how we separate teams and where blood boils and controversies arise.

Its a race to the bottom
How do you figure that?

I'm not understanding what the issue is? Cavan have entered Leinster competitions before when there's wasn't one in Ulster. What's the problem?

Kingpins of the Ulster Junior roll of honour, that competition is ceased, so enter Leinster as lowering the bar is where its at, beat Longford in the Leinster Junior final, ending an "83 year drought" to win an AI-Junior, repeating the trick 10 years later on the club scene, embarrassing, stratify your clubs properly

Ahaha. Not as cooked as you with your crying about this

What exactly is cooked?

"Theres about 6 or 7 teams in Cavan that are a good bit ahead of the rest"

And some of them are winning the Intermediate and Junior Championship, embarrassing

"Arva wont be anywhere near winning senior in Cavan next year"

Aye because when they aren't hockeying teams they'll down tools
What are you on about? Why would they down tools?

Only interested in soft wins, akin to Cavin winning the Leinster Junior in 2014, embarrassing
Again, what on earth are you on about? Leinster Junior 2014. What???

And soft wins how? They planned relegations and players emigrating and serious injuries, yeah?

I reference Ballymacelliot in Kerry here on many occasions who finished 3rd in Division 1 last year and 8th this year.

They couldn't win junior either year.

Would you say they are mentally weak in Kerry too?

Its been proven time and again
