John Conway RIP
« on: November 16, 2022, 10:08:10 AM »
Sad to hear the news of the passing of the Laois footballing legend, John Conway after a long battle with illness. Named on the Laois team of the millennium and involved with Laois GAA for many's a year as a player and referee .
Condolences to his family and all at Arles Kilcruise Gaa club.
The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That's real glory. VinceLombardi

A great character altogether who I wouldn't remember playing but came across many a time when he was refereeing. May he rest in peace.

From the little I saw, and the lot I heard, they don’t make men like this no more!

I recall John Conway playing at full back for Laois in the late 60s and early 70s. One of our best.
