Diana was bumped off by the royal family.

9/11 was an inside job.

Quote from: Tony Baloney on July 21, 2024, 06:03:18 PMEpic game but that finish leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I know there is no room for sentiment in sport but f**k me Patrick Horgan especially has been robbed by some of the decisions. There were 2 or 3 incidents which should have been a free in to Cork but Clare went up the pitch and scored. And don't talk about that last jersey pull. Players deserve so much better.
delighted to see Clare win but Cork can feel really hard done by by some of those decisions, the one at the end was a simple free to give

Both deserve another day out, nobody deserves to lose this, great stuff.

Got a ticket for the All-Ireland final Kerry v Galway a couple of years ago through a mate who got it through his work, first All-Ireland I'd been at that Down hadn't been involved in, in either senior or minor.

Sitting beside a Galway man who before the match started quizzed me where I was from and then proceeded to go into a rant about how it was a disgrace that people not from Galway and Kerry had tickets for the match. He then never spoke again for the full match, he actually made me feel bad for being there lol

Yesterday was all about winning and getting a bit of silverware after a long long wait. People knock the tailteann cup but I think it's been good for this Down team over last couple of years, got them games in croke park and playing in front of bigger crowds.
Promotion from division 3 and Sam Maguire football were the aims at the start of the year both were achieved, heading in the right direction

Quiet build up on here to tomorrow's match. Hopefully the team can get the job done after disappointing days in croke park recently against Meath and Westmeath. For me, going by the team named it would be a surprise if Ceilium Doherty doesn't start and maybe also Finn McElroy.

Hopefully a big Down support travelling down, good luck to players and management

Quote from: SuperRed on July 07, 2024, 10:39:34 AMWhat happened in the Longstone v Liatroim game on Friday night? Have both clubs dropped the points, or will there be a replay?

Leitrims tweet which has been since deleted and just as well said "Game abandoned as referee hasn't ability to control the match"

Not the first social media outburst Liatroim have had against a referee
as far as I heard, there was lots of fights and off the ball stuff going on, ref told both managers if it continued he would stop the match, it did so he abandoned the match.

Less than 40k in croke park this afternoon, really disappointing to see croke park less than half full for one of the biggest games of the year

For me and I've said it on different threads tickets prices have to be more realistic.

Fella in work, no interest in gaa but his kids play, they want to go to watch Down in the tailteann final, then he says 55 euro a ticket? no chance he says.

When I was a kid 80s and 90s my da and especially my uncle used to take me to Down matches all over the place, great days. Is there that same connection now a days, I don't think so.

I'm still going but it's out of blind loyalty, definitely dont feel it's value for money especially for a family.

Tailteann semis, 10500 attendance, give out free tickets to competing counties and try to boost attendance, try to make it a club day out at a reasonable price, try to promote the games instead of letting them stagnate.

Quote from: David McKeown on July 01, 2024, 08:09:39 PMAm I the only one who likes the tactical battles and constant iteration that comes with modern Gaelic Football?

I do to a certain extent, but Down v Armagh this year in the Ulster Semi Final, was just too much, I've never been as uninterested during a game as I was that day. It was dreadful.
there's been worse games than that this year.

Strange, strange times

Very strange but as long as the down ones don't start agreeing with us Im ok
no chance of that lol,  though I hope the Armagh support can get in early to cheer on their neighbours in the Europa league final 🤪
