This is what happens when 2 similar type defensive sides go head to head. Space is at a premium inside the 45m line, goal chances are at a premium and it becomes an arm wrestle. Tyrone just have a bit more experience than Down but I have been very underwhelmed with them overall, very disappointing display from supposed AI contenders.

Poor quality affair, high intensity but some real poor decision making and finishing by both sides. About half a dozen shots into goalkeepers arms and some very bad wides.

Being from Roscommon you must know him better than most. In the games I've seen him he is overly fussy and allows minimal contact which doesn't help as a spectator if you're looking for a free flowing game. Due to the tackle not being clearly defined in Gaelic football, the referee often has a degree of discretion he can use before deciding whether to award free kicks or not.

Well it is the current tribal division that has produced the sectarianism I witnessed yesterday,so the status quo is not the answer.
