Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on March 06, 2025, 08:55:35 PMThis should also serve as a catalyst for Antrim GAA (everyone involved) to start demanding that Ulster GAA get Casement built with the £120 million they have instead of rolling over and having their bellies tickled like they have for the last 15 years.

Definitely - time for the Ulster Council to start building what they can afford with what money they have or hand over the deeds and get out.
They'd rather chase their pipe dream at Antrim's expense. The latest one was blaming Gordon Lyons. I've said it before, round up whatever money is on the table, build a stadium to match, and never let the British Government darken the door.
I really hope the Antrim players and management stand their ground.

Quote from: Milltown Row2 on March 05, 2025, 01:57:52 PMWith the leagues changing all the time and players away with the county the league has come across as a glorified set of challenge games leading up to championship, as long as a team is not in a battle to stay up they will treat it indifferently..

Plenty of reasons around that but that's been the case for many many years.

The question is how do you make the league worth winning or even top 4, what are the incentives?

Why do the Tyrone lads go hell for leather in the league? Does that county just have a different mind set to their competitions?

Either way something has to be worked out between the clubs, all of the clubs, in all divisions, as it effects them too.

I do remember a simpler time when watching our seniors as a kid, we travelled all over to see them, we didn't win too many leagues from what I recall but it was well attended
Mind you the Tyrone league final was played in Christmas week.  Nowhere is perfect!

Just watched back on that shit show in the  Oval Office.  Zelenskyy stayed longer than he should.  If in any doubt Trump and JD showed themselves up as utter idiots.

Lads, that's VERY high stakes from Zelensky. It's not an argument in a pub we're talking about here. He can't do it without the Americans. Tomorrow is another day in Trump World and this will calm down hopefully, but Zelensky shouldn't have took the bait from that clown Vance. And yes he was totally disrespected, sickening.

A wins a win.  Not sure what anyone expects considering our underage teams, with the odd exception, have been getting annihilated. There's very little pipeline, mostly just a bunch of decent club players.

Quote from: Truthsayer on February 21, 2025, 10:41:45 AMMichelle not going to the White House... better late than never. Correct decision anyway

Her reasons?
Trumps proposals to clear Palestinians off their homeland and turn it into a big McDonalds...

I'm sure Trump will be devestated
Nothing would devastate that narcistic sociopath... Correct decision albeit late..
Correct decision this year, but they shouldn't have went last year, and it's just expedient political waffle to say Trumps comments on clearing Gaza is what makes this year different.  It's a bit sickening actually. Truth is, children were being butchered last year and that was time to boycott.

Quote from: Take the Mark on February 16, 2025, 05:52:18 PMWhat an embarrassing defeat that is. Thats a scoreline you might expect playing against a division 1 side and Offaly are a long way off that.
There will be the usual suspects coming to defend McEntee but for me he has no defence here (pun intended).

Serious questions need asked of him and his backroom team, farting about doing interviews over Corrigan - plenty to say about that, time he answered questions on serving up that shite.
Were you there?

Quote from: seafoid on February 15, 2025, 03:17:12 PMEurope and Arab states are working on an alternative to Trump's plan that will keep Gazans in Gaza. 90% of residential buildings have been destroyed by Israel with the help of Uncle Joe. The cost of replacing this is estimated to be $16bn. This is peanuts for Gulf states.
Good point.

Quote from: Rossfan on February 14, 2025, 06:37:10 PMAre ye proposing they can only play the ball in their own big square?, or inside the 20?
Or Square and penalty arc?
Well for talk sake, could they be allowed to play the ball inside the 20, but not allowed to catch it outside the 20.  That would keep them mostly at home, which would be my preference. We've become obsessed with goalkeepers, to the detriment in my opinion.  As I said, they have a great goalkeeping skill set, and should stick to that.

Quote from: befair on February 14, 2025, 05:55:11 PMI'd get rid of the fly goalie; it's an extra complication, which perhaps helps the attacking team, but there was always a place in football for the less athletic but substantial figure. Compare it with rugby; a teacher once told me he could go into any classroom and ther'd be a place on the rugby team for every kid. Even the short pudgy guys would be vaulable in the front row
Agreed, if there was a way to make goalies stay 'at home' I'd back it.  And to be fair they have their own skill set and would still play a vital role. I'm not a fan at all of them running around in the other half, too many people have become obsessed with it.

or the voters perhaps? People within smell of Lough Neagh will continue to vote SF or the DUP although they are doing nothing about it.
Doesn't matter who you vote for imo what actually gets one is above their pay grade and they just go along with it.

Not true, if the parties believed that they would lose votes then they would take an interest in this. No way would a big lake in the 26 turning blue-green not become an issue.
They'd rather debate some random motion all day, rather than actually make a decision on anything. Bunch of spoofers.

Yes. The accounts are freely available online.
Thanks.  Had a Quick Look there at 2023.  Catering costs 8%. Operating costs 9%.  Stadium costs 9%. Matchday costs 9%.  Which of those are included as reinvesting locally?

Quote from: Duine Inteacht Eile on February 11, 2025, 11:27:43 AMQuite the opposite. I don't want it moved out of Corrigan. You do!
If we do that, it may as well be Newry as Ballycastle.

If the Ulster Council say we can't play in Corrigan then Ballycastle is the next best Venue within our county.

I'm all for Corrigan and hope we stand our ground.
McEntee is from Meath, probably as stubborn as they come. I can't see the players and management backing down.  And good on em.
