More at stake here for Mayo than Tyrone, but after good results for both at the weekend and players striving for Championship places it should make for a good one.

How do you figure? Neither side can make the final and both very unlikely to be relegated thanks to Dublin's points difference(although Tyrone might need to be a little wary). Should be a good opportunity for both teams to fine tune their championship teams.

why is there more at stake for Mayo?
surely this is a must win game for Tyrone after the results today.
if tyrone dont win against Mayo they could be relegated, esp with dublin playing WestMeath is this not the case?

Fear ón Srath Bán

I stand corrected, we need to win to be sure. Big game for both then.

Of course a good tough 60 minutes work out followed by a late comeback from whoevers behind to secure a coincidental draw would be quite acceptable all round...

Big score difference between Tyrone and Dublin. Even if Dublin did win and Tyrone lose, the win/lose margin would need to be bigger than 12 points or Tyrone are safe enough. I would say the relegation battle is really between Dublin and Donegal

Isn't it Dublin v Westmeath? There's no doubt the Jacks could run up a 7-8 point win. Mayo are no pushovers down there and hammered us by 5 I think in Omagh on Easter Sunday a while ago. Derry v Donegal couldn't be trusted either. Tyrone wouldn't need to take it as granted.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

tyrone must be due a win against Mayo
they seem to be something of a bogey team for us especially in the league

ye bet us last year in omagh in a real shit game, think it was brian mcguigans comeback game. i think we won the year before in castlebar. lets keep the status quo going this year again. now... no upseting the cycles

Westmeath is already relegated. I meant the battle not to be the other relgated team is between Dublin and Donegal

What I'm saying is, if Tyrone were to go down by a goal to Mayo, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Jackeens could turn WM over by 9 points.

Donegal could nick the game v Derry. Tyrone definitely aren't safe.

Just can't see Derry losing to Donegal cos they have a very realistic chance of making the final. If Derry were to win by say 3 then all it would take is for Kerry to beat Galway by 3

.... and there is some change in the lineup of the Mayo team since 2007 - only 5 of that starting 15 started today.

And there I was thinking the same thing. Beat us recently in a couple of underage finals. We should have won the minor last year the first day. And as for the senior match. robbed. Rare victories those against the head.
