Terrible tragedy in clonoe. Is their game still on on sunday?

My heart goes out to a poor family tonight and a heart broken community. Football will be the last thing on clonoe peoples minds this weekend.

What happened?????

Check Clonoe's Facebook page for info. Terrible tragedy for them

Anyone hear anything about your fella Slater from Derrytresk been on the receiving end of a few Pomeroy boys on the Sunday night after their match? Judging from the pic I was shown and what he posted on Twitter he got a right touch.

Pomeroy lads gave him a right kicking - Literally

A few nearby heard the supposed quote - "They may have beaten us on the field but they won't beat us with their fists"

Pity they didn't just use their fists, kicking a man in the head while on the ground is dorty

Poor Game to say the least. Dromore were never challenged and cruised to an easy win in 3rd gear

Does anyone agree though that Dunmoyle is a horrible place for Championship Football??

Every game I have went to there has had a gale force wind blowing straight down the field, leading to "A game of 2 halves" (last night excluded to a certain degree when Dromore pulled clear with Mc Cuskers goal) but still. And with All the crowd on 1 side of the ground, it leads to no Atmosphere, last night the crowd was dead

Best grounds for such games is Carrickmore, crowd all around, including behind both goals, followed by Dungannon, Edendork and Pomeroy. Omagh possibly next

P.S. Mc Nabb is a class act

I'm sure I'll not be the only person not too upset to see Cookstown struggling after their "behaviour" in the last few years, thinking they were something

The Tyrone website is showing Round 3 fixtures going ahead this weekend followed by ROUND 7 games the following week. I would love to know the logic behind jumping from Round 3 to Round 7?

Going off a website with not one clue for those running teams or players from one week to the next what is happening
If McNulty is carrying a knock and played less than 24 hours after an AI-U21 semi final for Clonoe that is a joke, they aren't exactly struggling for quality players
Omagh will be grand, they have a huge squad to fall back on and any senior football played by the supporting cast while the big hitters are unavailable could benefit them later in the year, although they are particulary hard hit

Some Clonoe haters on here lol. So if Mc Nulty is "carrying" a back injury but it's ok to play for the county U-21's and not his club!!!!

This the same county that when he was with the seniors last year or year before he injured said back, then got dropped and the same county washed their hands off him from local reports

Club had to put him through all his rehab........

Any Clonoe posters confirm or deny this story??

I have it on good authority that Cassidy did not give any of his county players "Ultimatums" but would have been advising them what was best for Clonoe (he's in the business for results so nobody here can say they probably wouldn't be doing something similar) According to Michael O'Neill's Facebook he has been in America for a couple of weeks travelling but home now

correct.the main problem is the club championship being played in may, which is only to suit 1 player cathal McCarron. until croke park handles the club fixtures these problems will always happen.

a simple solution. sigerson finshed up before xmas with no county players playin it.
national league to start a week r 2 earlier with no break at all and do away with semis.this would leave a extra 4/5/6weeks?
all club league to start week after national league.all club league games fro every county played on same day.club championshiop commence after your county is knocked out, and run what ever way they are wanted to by county boards.
obv the senior county all Ireland should be a month earlier or even 6 weeks.
to many competions overlap in the gaa

Red zone for president
Fixture planning like above would be ideal to be fair. Would give Club football back the Clubs
Too many Competions Overlap

Harte got criticised last year for playing so many players so he can't really win.  Peter Hughes started a good few McKenna cup games and first day of leagues so has got games. Emmet McKenna started loads last year including a few championship games. Opportunities limited this year but has never taken his chances .

Oneill is a good keeper but probably not as good a a Morgan. Plenty of keepers up and down country have to accept being the number 2. Hopefully he does push on and challenge Morgan over next few years.

It's debatable that Morgan is even the "Best" keeper in Edendork!!!

O'Neill a far better shot stopper, stays between the posts where he is supposed to, accurate kick outs and from what I hear, performing better at training. I myself am surprised he is still hangin around, considering MH has always rotated his keepers until this years League

whats the story with sean mc cabe and donaghmore? Has he left to help Cassidy at Clonoe?

From what I'm hearing he's taking the reserves.

Didn't their Reserves just win 2 Championships in a row?? That management team couldn't be happy

Anyone got a HUGE slice of Humble Pie??

Fair play to Omagh, a lot of things fell their way Against Cross but they took full advantage and another good win today. They were in complete control of the game and never looked like loosing today. Probably will win Ulster now. They'll grow some confidence from these wins.

1. Dare I say they could win 3 or 4 Tyrone Championships in a row now???
2. They seemed to have gotten quite "mouthy" with opponents
3. Does this prove that with proper preparation Tyrone teams could fair better in Ulster???

Omagh are 11/2 for a reason, how many poor bookmakers do you know?? They rarely get it wrong

Saying Cross arnt as big or physical as previous makes me laugh, have you seen them this year?? Omagh will be bullied out of it. Hanratty will run straight over the top of Omaghs midfield

I'd be more concerned about Omaghs "lack of game time" 1 Month to prepare, surely Clonoe arnt happy after last years turnaround!!!

In the same way carmen and dromore were going to bully omagh? Would u be saying the same thing if either of those teams were playing. Lazy old stereotypcal analysis. And why would hanratty dominate against omaghs strongest area of the field with grugan and mcmahon?

Cross definite favourites and should win but not for silly lazy reasons put forward by club boi. Obviously hasnt seen tbis omagh team play.

I have seen All of Omaghs Championship games this year, and played against the majority of them. By all accounts they should've got beaten by Coalisland, Dromore and Carrickmore (2 late goals getting the wins) Hanratty will run over Either Mc Mahon in his way and Morgan will eat O'Neill. I really hope Omagh do play defensively with 13 men behind the ball as Cross will just push up and play with 13 forwards, and I know which set of forwards will score more on the day to win
