Not seen any of the league games so relying on reports etc, I'd be prepared to give McHugh plenty more time given its his first year on the panel and the disadvantages that brings.

We're incredibly frustrating, looked like we were going to win that game comfortably with ten mins to go. Galway had kicked 10 out of the previous 12 points and were in total control.  Comer is a huge loss, he's our best player and the best forward in the province.

I think 9 points will be enough for promotion so 2 wins from 3 should do it as I just don't see any of Cork, Meath, Down, Derry, & Clare winning all their remaining games. I think if we were level on 9 points with Clare we'd go up based on the head to head.

Thats some depth of quality the Dubs have in their forward line. Any 6 from Kilkenny, Flynn, Connolly, Rock, Andrews, McMenamon, Brogan, Costello, Mannion, O'Gara, O'Callaghan, Scully & McHugh.

Win tomorrow and we'll move up up to 5th no matter what happens in the Liverpool v Arsenal match.

Don't know what he's going to do at left back, everyone we've tried this season has been poor.

Expectations were unrealistic after the great start Liverpool had although I'm very surprised at how bad they've been since January, missed the games the other night but Klopp rightly deserves to be criticised for starting Lucas at centre half for obvious reasons.

Klopp like every manager isn't going to get every signing right especially given he has a limited budget. As for his style of football, its easier for Mourinho to get results playing a more pragmatic style than the way Liverpool play now.

Very true. Where are the personnel going to come from for those defensive changes is the question?
I think we're decent enough from the half back line up in terms of squad personnel.
In terms of goalkeeper and fullback line - we're not strong to be brutally honest.
A good win today though.
Meath next week is a huge game now.
Meath are no world beaters but it's the type of game we have become used to losing after a few wins.
Never easy to win in Navan

Good win today but agree, the full back line and goalie were a serious weak link. Lavelle made about 3 point blank saves but he also caused the 3 of them with daft kick outs, arsing about in front of goal and trying to carry the ball out of his own defence, mad stuff. When Clare ran at them at pace we were in trouble, Bradshaw was excellent going forward but that left a massive hole in our half back line that bigger teams will exploit. I'd like to see Johnny Duane given a shot at no. 6, push Bradshaw out on the wing and Liam Silke and Cathal Sweeney in the corners. Sweeney came on in the forward line again today which is a bit puzzling when he was one of our best players 2 years ago and was seriously missed last year.

I'd like to see a full back line of Silke, Kyne & Sweeney; A bit worrying that Sweeney doesn't appear to be getting his chance in the corner or perhaps he's working his way back to fitness. Sweeney was our best back in 2015 by a mile.

Wouldn't like to see Kyne there, too easily turned. Put him wing-back if anywhere. Ditto Sweeney; very good 2 years ago, but I still get the feeling he was playing above himself. Where is Duane these days? Maybe the much-maligned Hanley is still our best bet at no. 3? As bad as our FB line looks, the outside line is still just one game away from disaster. Further up,  Flynn needs to be given the P45 at this point, Army too.

I still have my doubts over Kyne too but would be prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt. Looked like we gifted Clare their goal on Sunday with a poor short kickout, this worries me even more. I can remember at one stage of the Tipp game last year they had won all 12 of their own kickouts whilst we had only won 10 out of 20 at the same stage, it absolutely killed us. Galway can't make those same mistakes last year but I've lost count of how many keepers Walsh has tried out. Flynn is not a wing forward, play him midfield or use him as backup for Conroy & FOC; Flynn frustrates me, very few midfielders can carry a ball like he does but doesn't do it often enough.

Did Donegal play a couple of minors from last year against Dublin?

That was a worrying performance from Roscommon, beaten before they came out of the dressing room.
They actually started alright 0-3 to 0-1 ahead then for Mayo to hit 8 or 9 points on the trot. If buts and maybes about the three goal chances before half time if a few of them were taken it could have been a different game and if their confidence wasn't shot with that wastefulness it must have been after C O Connor converted that penalty after HT. The remainer of the game was 0-10 to 0-9 to Mayo with a bucket load of wides kicked by both sides.

Hard to know where Mayo stand at the moment after watching last night's no intensity non contest but the Dublin game next should tell more.

Mayo had goal chances too and kicked 15 wides, Roscommon may have had some goal chances too but they were appalling and brought no intensity to the game. Roscommon at Senior level just can't beat Mayo, I know they haven't beaten them since 2001 in the Championship but when did they last beat Mayo in the league?

I did say we'd get a few decisions in the later half of the season given how we were on the wrong end of a lot of decisions in the first half of the season. When decisions go against us nobody is interested. Le Tissier is a clown, on the radio moaning again, clearly forgets that the one trophy Soton won was because of an offside goal.

Ref was poor yesterday, should have sent off the Saints centre half for that tackle, doesn't matter he didn't make contact with Martial as thats not the rule. Lingard should have gone too. Thats 2 huge decisions he got wrong, he's not a top ref.

Limited knowledge of Rugby but Zebo looks petrified anytime he has the ball in an attacking situation, any decent wingers coming through to threaten Zebo and Earls as its a position Ireland look like their lacking a bit of class at this level.

Good win in very poor conditions for Galway today.  Brennan was a big losss to Clare as we dominated the middle for most of the game and got a decent return from a forward line that was missing Damien Comer.  Defence still a major concern though - needs a little more surgery for the latter stages of the league and later in the year for sure.

Nice to get a win at home, been a while. Good to rack up a decent score without Comer & Cummins who easily are 2 best forwards last year and certs to start. Lets hope Shane Walsh can start to produce performances that a man of his talent should. One game at a time, on to Meath next week who no doubt produce a better performance that the dross they produced last night.

Cup finals are all about the result

4th game in 11 days v a side who'd not played for 2 weeks, it certainly showed. Don't think we'll play a side with such an advantage for the rest of the season. Forgot about the FA Cup and start using the squad a bit more and we should be ok going forward. To think some questioned signing Zlatan, 26 goals is some return for a 35 year old.

I'm not a fan but this is the start of the experiment which if works will see a Champions League type format brought in for everyone which I'd be happy with.

Going to be a very busy July & August for the 2 counties who reach the final next year with 6 games to be played over 8 or 9 weekends. The county with the biggest squad is really going to benefit here, can't think who that is!

A Cuala win against Slaughtneil should be enough to keep Con O'Callaghan out. Not that it has anything to do with Kildare who need to beat Longford first who are always a tough game at this grade. Dublin and Kerry both beat us well at minor 3 years ago.

Kildare are without Paul Mescal who would have been their best defender as he is focusing on his studies while Rory Feely who is very talented is missing this year due to soccer commitments with St Pats. Jimmy Hyland who was the star forward on the last 2 minor teams is recovering from ACL surgery. So all in all we are not as strong as we might have been but would be hopeful that we are still somewhat competitive.

I watched the Kildare minors last summer against Mayo and thought Jack Robinson was the best player on the pitch by a mile, a joy to watch. Is he on the u21's this year or is he still a minor?
