Know it's all over with now but wtf were they playing at with the whole Portlaoise seniors/minors debacle or were they solely to blame?

Quote from: High Fielder on October 27, 2023, 08:40:27 AMYou're missing the point completely. It's not about what's doable for him. The first time he can't attend a local meeting or meet with one of his constituents because he has training would be fatal. He's already done harm by accepting the role. It was obvious that he would anyway.
Completely missing the point is right. Being a politician isn't a 9-5 job & being a count manager may as well be a full time job in itself. Going to be a big ask to juggle both. Be an absolute $hitshow if he'd to step away

Should have been done by now but better to wait and get right man. Don't think either of those two are what's needed.

On the weekend, the final's hard to call. Hopefully Joseph's do it but it'll be tight, a point or two either way. Think the B Final might be the same. Can just see The Heath nicking that one. The relegation game, I'll go with Clonaslee.

Portlaoise much the better team with goals probably disguising how dominant they were .
Stradbally and The Heath will be a tasty curtain raiser .
No fresh talent on show this weekend . Same faces mostly still be the most productive at this level .
That final is on the day before.

No Barry McNamee was over them last year but he's gone after only one year. Not sure who's in now

Was in park tonight. Courtwood were flying. Very fast and mobile. Timahoe just couldn't live with them. They seem to have a heap of young fellas who can play ball. The lad marking o Connor gat a black card and they brought in a chap who was arguably better. I'd say they'll take stopping now. Gonna be hard for timahoe to lift themselves now after a bad beating
Was very impressed by them. The pace killed Timahoe and they couldn't mark most of Courtwood's forwards. The young lads you've mentioned have all come off that very good St Paul's team from the last few years as far as I know.
Be hard for Timahoe to lift themselves alright but one win and they're in the Semi? Luck of the draw now

The three black cards he gave were harsh. First one won the ball, second he wasn't even giving a foul until the Timahoe lad retaliated then but the Courtwood chap got done too and the last was a yellow. Think some refs still really need to learn the difference between what's a black and a yellow

The A final was terrible. Paul's were more interested in stopping Port playing than playing themselves. Port werent great either but took their chances and deserved the win. Coffey was excellent as was the Full Back on Kinsella.
The B final was a shock. Think Dempseys thought they were going to walk it after beating The Heath by 20odd points in the league. Some turnaround. Few nice players on The Heath side, Barry looked a  step above everything else for Dempseys

Ha, I wish I had've been half as good as him when I was that age. Unfortunately a long time gone by that, your investigtive skills need a lot of work

Port did as expected last night too, should be a good final
He obviously got it from his mothers side so.
Think you're best to let this one go, you're so far off its hilarious

Handy win for St Paul's last night v St Joseph's. Port should win tonight to set up a good final

Can see The Heath giving Stradbally a serious rattle
7/2 in Ladbrokes and a well deserved win

Emo Courtwood 1-15 Ballyroan 0-8.
Something like that anyway. Big gulf in class. O'Flynn, Langford, Kinsella, Dunne all very good. Owens disappointing. Diarmuid Whelan lacked support for BA.
Owens was far from disappointing. Took 2/3 Ballyroan players with him every time he went on a run which left players free elsewhere. Needs to work on his final ball but a huge talent. St Paul's were miles ahead all over the field

The final will more than likely be a repeat of last years 2 finals and the upcoming U17 Championship final - Port v St Paul's

Yeah Courtwood seemed to be missing a lot of players and had a number of U17's on the bench to make it look a bit better. They battled hard but lacked the quality with those missing. MM only scored 1-02 for the last 35-40 mins which would have to be a worry against an Intermediate team missing a load
