GAA Discussion / Re: McKenna Cup 2016

I suspect the Derry management will blow every incident from Saturday nights game and potential incidents from the upcoming league game out of all proportion in the media over the the coming weeks. Emmett McGuckin already dipped his toe into this tactic with the comments about Mickey sending Cathal McCarron on to get him sent off. They know the media will jump all over these sort of things regarding Tyrone and by the time the Championship comes around such a frenzy will be created that any self respecting referee will head to Celtic Park to teach Tyrone a lesson by ignoring all claims for frees and sending off as many Tyrone players as he can.

Derry will kick the shite out of Tyrone knowing they will get away with blue murder against the big bad Tyrone machine and win by a point. The perfect plan by Barton who will be lauded as a genius.

It'll all backfire though as Tyrone lift Sam again by our favoured backdoor route and Derry lose to Cavan next time out and Wicklow in a qualifier.
The video they are talking about was posted by the Derry video analyst FFS he's about as responsible with his work as his boss on a pitch.

Kieran McGeary, Hugh pat McGeary, Johnny Munroe, Niall sludden, Harry Og Conlon, Paudie Hampsey and David Mulgrew have been called up.
David Mulgrew is the big surprise there, if I was picking anyone from Ardboe I would've expected Michael Cassidy to have been called up, be interesting to see how he steps up.
not really surprising as he is a nephew of Horse Devlin, not the right thing for the lad imo he is a serious talent but needs time to develop and should be concentrating on U 21's what's the rush to get him involved at this stage?

If I'm not mistaken this is not the first time he has called time on his playing days, on his return to intermediate football from a junior all Ireland run.

Well you are mistaken the last time the Rock played on after an All Ireland Martin was a key player the next season as the Rock finished in the top half of the league. Can't believe people singling any individual out

Surely all Logan has to do is withdraw from consideration
Why would he ?
Maybe he is the right man for the job
Logan is being talked to for the U 21 job that he is in, there is no one else in for the Senior job. The language used by the County Board is very poor. It is a discussion with Harte and Logan before their inevitable and deserved reappointments, can't see what the story is here.

She had no business in a changing room, it should have been sorted well in advance of that. Too many agendas in the County on all sides.

At the end of the day RTE treated the Harte family disgracefully. It wouldn't have happened to a Dublin or Kerry manager in similar circumstances. Granted he was wrong to insult the Chairperson but why was she in the changing room? I wouldn't be Hartes biggest fan but agree with him on this.

Was there much evidence of this last year? Did players going to America increase compared to prior year? The likes of donaghmore improved after getting knocked out of the championship early. Killyclogher went on to win the league. I didn't notice a huge drop of in the competitiveness of the league. Some teams such as clonoe took it easy in some of their games but would have if still in the championship too.

That's precisely why Donaghmore improved because most teams were finished in May. The League has to be completed before the Championship and do away with playoffs.

Can't see what the fuss is about Peter Donnelly, am sure he would be very good but only solves a small part of the problems Tyrone have.
