Exciting enough game, played in awful conditions. Crossmaglen's quality showed through in the end.

I've been a critic of John Donaldson in a county shirt but I was very impressed by his display today. David McKenna is also coming through too, but he needs to learn to off-load the passes quicker. (He reminded me of a young Orior in that respect). Good to see Oisin working hard and getting involved. I noted the BBC said the ball was bundled over the line for a goal, but it looked like a rocket to me!

The ref spoilt things a bit in the first half as some foul  tackles were due to the conditions but overall there was no animosity and both teams concentrated on football.

Well done Ziggy. Dizzy heights eh?

Right. I'm going along to the final and I want to see some rules observed:

  • If I catch anyone shouting abuse at the ref, I'll personally kick them up the arse, and make sure they behave at future GAA matches (I have special powers);
  • If I catch anyone trying to run on to the pitch when the match is still on, I'll personally kick them up the arse, and make sure miss at least three county championship matches (I have special powers);
  • If I catch anyone trying to hit any player leaving the pitch, I'll personally kick them up the arse, and make sure the never attend another GAA match for five years (I have special powers);
  • If I catch anyone trying to hit the ref leaving the pitch, I'll personally kick them up the arse, and make sure the never attend another GAA match ever (I have special powers);
  • [/li]

Follow these simple guidelines and everyone will have a good day out.

PS. Will yis all drive carefully to and from the match.

By the way, thanks to Randal for phoning me on the mobile when I was making my report to the meeting!

Classic!

Maybe the question is who would win? The highly skilled players with the poor gameplan versus the not so skilled players with the brilliant gameplan. Have their been any recent county games that illustrate such?

The answer? Did Kerry will all those all-irelands with average players or great game plans?

If you are looking at Ulster, dont forget the McKenna Cup. Remember Armagh v Tyrone in Casement?

I have a plastic pitch.

It fits on my kitchen table and we play subbuteo on it  ;)

Lucky you missed the BBC coverage. They gave pride and place to the punch up after the Stewartstown v Ballymcnab match.

I'm interest though, were there any Stewarts or McNabbs playing for either team? Is Stewartstown an Irish village renamed by the planters ala Londonderry or Draperstown?

Sounds like a classic Englishtown v Irishtown  ;)
