I'd be wary of someone like me explaining cricket but
judging by the DL target set for Ireland -  61 runs for 9 overs, some allowances are made to the nr of wickets, but if you had a few decent batsmen, the runs you could gain by being able to take a few more risks would sway it into the chasing teams favour.

Having the D/L system in 20/20 is seriously flawed

The system is definitely flawed with relation to Twenty20, England were victims of it on Monday night and probably would have been last night too had the rain eased enough to allow Ireland chase a reduced target. The game didn't even exist when d/l was originally drawn up

One of DL were on 5Live today and he said from their analysis of 20/20 and 50 over games that the run rates were similar whether they were 20/20 or 50 over games.

The thing they will haqve to looks at is the number of wickets that are needed.  Not fair if the batting side have 10 batsmento make the reduced total.

These guys had a record and video out and everything. Big beard on one of them. They looked like eejits

Great to see Eoin Morgan make his test debut for England this morning

Hope he shows them how its done.

Will his inclusion mean a leap in participation in hurling in the UK?

Sky showed an interview with him this morning before start of play, Atherton asked him about the hurling and he played it down a little saying that it was hours of practice that got him this far not the fact he used to play a bit of hurling.

If he goes well he'll be soon telling us that it's all down to Lucazade Sport or the like.

Well done Eoin Morgan.

First Test century today brought up with 6 to do it with style.

The new star of Pakistan cricket takes 4 wickets for 8 runs including Dublin's Eoin Morgan. Puts a dent in his Ashes hopes

Amir is some player for a Minor.  If their batting could improve or they could play well from the get go.

I suppose they could leave him out, move Broad up the order and bring in another bowler.  Hope he goes though.

Arrest over Pakistan-England Test cricket 'betting scam'

Amir thought to be one of the players involved.  Bit young to have his career over.

They are screwed to be honest, and rightly so. Did you see how obvious the no balls were!! They were miles out!

It's basically two tiered. As the 'English' summer ends, the Southern hemisphere starts.

Cracking ODI just coming to a conclusion on SS1. The Aussies got 239, and Sri Lanka were roughly 100-8. However the 9th wicket has put on a world record for the 9th wicket and are currently 239-8 with one to win!

Malinga's first ever 50 in Intl cricket!

Brilliant game.
