In the sport of cricket, the Duckworth–Lewis method (D/L method) is a mathematical way to calculate the target score for the team batting second in a one-day cricket or Twenty20 cricket match interrupted by weather or other circumstance. It is generally accepted to be a fair and accurate method of setting a target score, but as it attempts to predict what would have happened had the game come to its natural conclusion, it generates some controversy. The D/L method was devised by two English statisticians, Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis.

Having the D/L system in 20/20 is seriously flawed

Thats tough, to go all that way to get to the world cup, have the chance to scalp England taken away from you
and have to go home without being able to fire a retort.
O'Brien was just getting warmed up, he definitely had a few 6's in him

One of DL were on 5Live today and he said from their analysis of 20/20 and 50 over games that the run rates were similar whether they were 20/20 or 50 over games.

The thing they will haqve to looks at is the number of wickets that are needed.  Not fair if the batting side have 10 batsmento make the reduced total.
