All over - respectable enough.

West Indies 190 for 2 in 38.1 overs

A sign of things to come though.

What does that mean? Not being rude, just I've no idea what a cricket score is.

West Indies were batting, they reached the winning number of runs 190, only loosing two batsmen.
They did that in 38.1 overs @ 6 balls /over
They reached the target that ireland set with 10 overs to spare.
That means they could have kept on batting another 60 balls if they needed to.
They just stop batting as soon as they better what Ireland scored 189

It means that it was a very comortable victory. Means if they manage to win another game it will be another huge shock
and the bodies will be piling up agatha christie style.

1    W Indies    3    3    0    0    0     0.80    6.0
2    Ireland     3    1    1    1    0    -0.10    3.0
3    Pakistan    3    1    2    0    0     0.09    2.0
4    Zimbabwe    3    0    2    1    0    -0.88    1.0

Ireland ended up with a worse run rate than Pakistan. If Zimbabwe had scored one more run against Ireland then Pakistan would have qualified for the next round

Anything other than 6 straight defeats in the Super 8 will be a surprise.

Bangladesh qualifying does give us a chance of one win, but even then I'd say they'll be favourites. England is probably our next best chance given how fired up for it we'll be (assuming they beat Kenya, which might be a bananaskin for them if they don't perform)

Billys Boots

The Windies (strange for a Longford person to be calling another team other than Drumlish that) have it all to do today after Australia scored 320-odd yesterday (that's over 6 per over run-rate).
My hands are stained with thistle milk ...
