It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

If you were any use you'd be playing.

I used to have a pair of glass-cutting/handling gloves back in the day.

Nobody in secondary school has a notion of what a decent Meath team looks like

You confident you've got the players to get back challenging Jinxy?

Jinxy

Yes.
Provided half of that Dublin team retires next year.
Once we get properly fit and organised we'll give anyone else a game.
We need that old steel back though.

I hope you're right, we could do with a few different teams mounting challenges. Monaghan have done well and been a good Div 1 side and serious contender in Ulster every year but take them out of Ulster and they've been hopeless.

A lot of teams in Div 2 will fancy their chances of achieving promotion this year, i'd imagine Cork & Galway will be favourites with the bookies but that won't deter the likes of Fermanagh, Derry & Meath.

This year Meath had a decent minor team so if they can maintain that type of competitiveness at underage, then that will eventually feed through to senior. A lot of the satellite towns like Ashbourne and Ratoath should be feeding lots of young players into the system going forward. The key will be how they are developing them into IC seniors.

Jinxy

That's another thing, the Dubs need to stop stealing lads like Dean Rock off us.

However long it won't be long enough. You need to suffer like the rest of us.
