Like with U2, not a fan, and I'd struggle to name 3 I like.

Another One Bites The Dust
Under Pressure
Crazy little thing (not great, but it makes 3rd spot).

Really, really don't like Bohemian Rhapsody.

So he's smart at any rate.

Quote from: AustinPowers on April 24, 2024, 09:21:11 PMIt's over to you  now Arsenal,  to defeat the state sponsored Death Star

Well in that case...

C'mon the Death Star.
Congratulations to Louth and Meath.  Hopefully those U-20s can be part of successful senior teams.

I just thought it was brutal.  Felt about twice as long as it actually lasted.

Quote from: JimStynes on April 15, 2024, 09:56:27 PMBaby Reindeer on Netflix is very good.

Unreal. He's a great actor considering he's a comedian. Must be therapeutic playing himself. I never was as uncomfortable watching something and as quiet when over.

Couldn't sit through it.

Me either. Took two goes to make it through the first episode.  Think I'll leave it at that.
It's the vaccines, isn't it?

Quote from: Captain Scarlet on April 16, 2024, 04:35:00 PMThere is a lot of back and forth re Dublin who I think we should all admit would dominate any province. They are dominating the All-Ireland long enough so it's fair to say their depth would manage Ulster too.

But, that doesn't excuse Kildare and Meath especially. They should be up and around Div 1 or solid Div 2. I know lads are saying when we are waiting to be hammered in Leinster it breeds a bad vibe, but the league is something different and Kildare were annihilated by Cork and Derry last year. That is not excuseable.

There will be a reset and some fresh blood on the pitch and on the line next year, but the Dubs are going nowhere!

It does create a bad vibe. And you can't just switch that on or off for league football.

When people argued that Dublin benefitted from financial advantages 5 years back we were told that it was a once in a life time team. That we should laud them while they are here. How does that argument stack up now?

I'd say it stacks up pretty well.  They weren't winning All-Irelands during the time Cluxton, McCaffrey and Manion were on hiatus.  All of those three, along with Fitzsimons and McCarthy will be gone soon enough.
Blown outta the water by Sid Vicious doing My Way at the end.  One of the few times when a great movie was made even better by the ending credits.
He did some good stuff with The Bluesbreakers, and with Cream.

His own stuff....nah....

Though there is this one classic he never set to music...

Surely got to be said, yeah, this is what all the f**king foreigners and wogs here are like, just disgusting, that's just the truth, yeah. So, where are you? Well, wherever you are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country. You f**king . . . I don't want you here, in this room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should vote for Enoch Powell. Enoch's our man. I think Enoch's right, I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white. I used to be into dope, now I'm into racism. It's much heavier, man. f**king wogs, man.

Quote from: Captain Obvious on April 17, 2024, 10:54:21 PMA good night for competition that's cup football for you. In truth nobody other than Manchester City supporters wanted to see such a soulless club go on to retain the Champions league title. PSG another soulless so for the health on the sport it will be for the best if they don't win it now that favourties are out.

What's a soulless club?
All of this.

Great post.

Quote from: Sportacus on April 14, 2024, 05:26:12 PMSixty thousand empty seats in Croke Park for a Dublin Meath championship match.  What a sad state of affairs.

Sad indeed

A number of obvious reasons for it , but one thing I have to say  from watching  a numbers of games this weekend, is that  the quality of football right now is  absolutely dire

As a spectacle it really has become a poor game to watch. Ruined by over coaching and stats, the level of crowd engagement at a match has never been lower.

Yes and no.  The league final was a fantastic game. The latter stages of the AI last year were pretty compelling.  Lots of mismatches in the early stages, like every year, but that's not uncommon in sport. Look at the top 5 or 6 European soccer leagues this year, and the top teams are pretty much scunnering everyone else.

Nor will they until they're found guilty of something.
