Cork have pace and more pace up front
They'll want to use every blade of grass to give their speedsters space to run into.

I actually think their full back line aren't great. The goalie is poor enough on shots

Young Flanagan from Limerick took the Cork full back line apart. Mind you that was after Gillane got sent off, so maybe the thing to do with them is play a 2 man inside line and run the legs off them. Flanagan isn't in the form of his life either, he wasn't outstanding in any of the other games, and was taken off against Tipp U21s last week.

I can't agree with you about Anthony Nash though. I think shot stopping is normally one of his strong points. That reaction save to Bubble's Dwyer's ground stroke v Tipp was sensational.
I would say the one weakness in Nash's game is when a lad is running straight in on him, he doesn't come out and smother the shot.
See Johnny Glynns goal in 2015. Very poor from Nash. The ball bounces at the edge of the small square and he's stuck to his line. Donal Og would have thrown his body in front of it.

Just saw the Ronaldo incident now, having read some of the reaction on here and Twitter yesterday. My reaction was "is that it? ". The word harmless springs to mind. The Iranian player should have gotten a card for feigning injury and trying to get another player sent off.

The penalty being given was unbelievable.

Why are the VAR refs wearing a full kit? Is John Terry the head of the Referees committee?

At least Mo will be fresh for the new season

Ya reckon? He looks like he's holding back, I thought he'd be fine but knowing that type injury well from personal experience he probably came back too soon, understandable but his pay masters wouldn't be too pleased

Yeah - I'm a f**king doctor
Fair play to ya Dr. Gabriel. How did you manage to avoid developing a God complex?

Cycling is the new golf as the sport of choice for w**kers. Of course, golf is still golf. Both are grand pastimes, but people who take them seriously as sports and get dressed up for them are pure evil.

Who'd you steal that from as I've saw in on facebook a few times this last week?
I know that it's hardly an original thought to say that people who get dressed up for cycling and golf are w**kers. Sad and all as I am, I'm not sad enough to steal posts from Facebook and pass them off as my own on other forums in an attempt to impress people I don't know. You might be spending too much time on Facebook Johnny.

It's not even your original text let alone thought as I've saw the very same quote in verbatim.

Don't try and peddle it as your own  ;)
Grand Johnny. Whatever you say. No doubt you'll post a link or a screenshot to completely show me up.

He was the sole dissenting voice in the Irish media during the Rugby World Cup bid and did great work exposing it for the sham, built on false claims and figures, that it was. How much he knows about the game of rugby or Joey Carbery is completely irrelevant to that.

Writing about hosting international events and writing about rugby are two separate entities. Anyone with half a brain knows hosting events is an economic deficit, he wasn't writing anything new. He writes in a very aggressive manner that stirs emotion, so when people agree with it, they are quite emotive. He would do a great job as a speech writer for Trump.

He reminds me of the character Tom Yates in House of Cards.
Maybe you can name a few other journalists who were critically examining the claims and numbers being thrown out by our World Cup bid team because the only dissenting voice I was hearing anywhere in the media at the time was McKenna's. If everyone knows that hosting sporting events is an economic loser, why were the bid team able to spout pie in the sky figures about profit with the media, aside from Mckenna, universally cheerleading the bid?

I didn't follow the process but that he adopted that approach wouldn't surprise me, as it would create a bit of a kerfuffle and raise his profile. Of course, maybe he just believed it.
This is an example of his work on the World Cup bid. No question he believed it would have been an economic disaster. I'd imagine that living in Brazil gives him a great insight into the social and economic costs of giant sporting events to the ordinary man.

I've never seen a more precious Journo than McKenna, any criticism he gets generates some hysteric reactions. He's Kimmage lite, clearly wants to be a Doping exposer but doesn't have the background knowledge of someone who really knows their onions.
He's touched on doping but it's not an obsession with him at all. If you said he's obsessed with wumming and trolling I'd say fair enough.

To be fair to Kimmage, the Matt Hampson book was incredibly moving and uplifting. He's a unique interviewer too.

England did their best to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. They were dominant in the first half yet changed their approach in the second half and nearly squandereed the game. However the Tunisians were so bad at defending set pieces they handed the English victory.
I thought they looked very tired after half-time and weren't able to keep pressing the Tunisians as they had in the first half. They only got a bit of a second wind when the subs came on.

I thought the ref +VAR did their best to gift the Tunisians a draw, rather than the English throwing it away,  though the woeful finishing(Kane aside), especially from Lingard is something they won't get away with later in the Tournament.

Parkinson is excellent. His hurling and football podcasts are great apart from Damien Hayes who is as bad an analyst as he was great a player and is full of bluster.

If you were given a Neil Francis article and a Ross O Carroll Kelly article, without the writers' names on them, you might be hard pressed to guess which was which. I don't like him but he's the only bit of rugby content I might read in the papers.

I think McKenna is genuinely brilliant though. Some of his work around the rugby world cup bid, Dublin's financial advantages and preferential treatment within the GAA, his rebuttal of the notion that rugby is no longer very elitist and Mo Farah's incredible list of links to doping were excellent, to name just a few off the top of my head. His does engage in a fair bit of trolling on Twitter but given that he winds up po-faced, self righteous types,  fair play to him on that too.

England need rid of Young and Lindgard to progress.

There is genuinely no point in playing 3 Centre halves unless your wing backs provide proper width. The amount of times tonight big Maguire cane steaming out of defence with the ball, slips it to Young, who steps and goes backwards. Offers nothing. Lingard is a passenger. He doesn't have the creative impact required to be that unwilling to get involved.

Sterling not in Rashford's league. Not even close.
Rashford improved things too but wtf was he doing dummying that chance?
