Garret O'Neill. He played a good few years for Greenlough but was never that committed. Certainly not enough to play county football.

General discussion / Re: Depression

I have a couple of friends who suffer and they say that running (or exercise in general) can really help. I'm not a sufferer but I know that running helps me destress. Plenty of clubs all across the country, as well as park runs every Saturday morning (which are good social events). Sorry if this has been raised before. I haven't read back through the whole thread.

Quote from: Doire23 on July 29, 2024, 01:10:45 PMEoghan Rua seem to be in a massive period of transition (not dissimilar to Glenullin's in more recent years). A lot of players nearing the end of their playing time - they might not be too disappointed with a few seasons of intermediate to get themselves rebuilt.

Rebuild with what though? Their underage teams have been playing tier 2 and 3 for quite a few years now. I dont see them in the U18 or U14 league tables this year?

They are in A2 of u14 but not going great and amalgamated with Doire Colmcille at minor strangely

Cheer Brendan. I saw a team called Doire Rua at Minor. Its a strange one alright.

Well done Armagh. Great performance, full of composure. Not generally a fan of Rian O'Neill but he stood up as a real leader yesterday. It's the first final I've been at in a few years and the atmosphere was unbelievable. The noise at the final whistle was deafening. I forgot how hair raising the parade actually is!

What a win for Tipp minors!

I'm currently reading a book on the United Ireland subject. It's named, Making Sense of a United Ireland by Brendan O'Leary. It's a bit dry but interesting all the same.

I think if we're full strength we'll give them a fair rattle.

I don't think Derry could have got Donegal.

Decent draw for the Ulster teams.

Aye, I'm just after editing my post when I realised that. Too slow :)

Would have preferred Donegal but at least we avoided Dublin :) All though it's not clear if could have gotten Donegal anyway. Kerry couldn't play Louth so you wonder why they even bothered with the third phase draw?

Great performance. I thought we'd run them close but I didn't see us winning. I feared that the game was coming a couple of weeks too early for us. I really hope Murray isn't injured. He has the potential to take a lot of pressure off Shane. Hopefully we can avoid Dublin in the quarters.

Great victory for us today. Very few gave us a chance.

Aye, we're showing signs of getting back to where we were at the end of the league.

Ye'll be back to where ye were next week when ye bate Mayo in extra time.  ;D

I don't think it matters who wins this now. Neither will be in good enough shape to handle 3 more games. There's always next year 😀
