If Morocco won the World Cup it would be one of the greatest shocks in modern sport, certainly up there with Leicester winning the League especially given the calibre of teams they have faced. I think they have an outside chance again tonight but I suspect they may run out of road as their opponents begin to figure them out. They are heavily reliant on not conceding a goal so it will be interesting to see how they react should they go a goal down. They will have massive support inside the stadium though and it will be like another home fixture for them.

Really disappointed Brazil didn't take care of Croatia as would have been a great semi to watch. I had a feeling Croatia where going to set up a poor side as they where extremely lucky to get to that point.

Morroco prob put on a better show tonight.

Agreed. When yer pretty much a neutral ye just want a clash that has the potential to be an epic. Bra Arg in the semi couldve been one likewise a Spain Portugal quarter with winner to meet France. Damm you underdogs...

Copa America final last year between Argentina and Brazil was far from memorable game. Croatia coming through extra time and penalties in their last two matches didn't help their cause last night.

Morocco have got this far mainly because of their good defence. Just one goal conceded and it was OG, that defence should get its biggest test tonight.

Is there 3 of the first 4 defenders missing now for them?? Be tight going if so

Denmark winning the Euro's in '92 has to be up there only qualifying because Yugoslavia (the former) were disqualified. Granted there were only 8 teams in the tournament back then.

Apart from maybe Uruguay in the 30s there has never been a surprise winner of the World Cup.

None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought. Ea

brazil Argentina would most likely have been a kicking session. Not convinced it would have been a good game either.

West Germany 1954.

QuoteMiracle of Bern, or, Das Wunder von Bern if you prefer.

The miracle of course was West Germany's comeback from being two goals down to Hungary after just eight minutes.

Hungary fielded the legendary Ferenc Puskas—who opened the scoring—and could be confident of the fact that they had already beaten the German's 8-3 earlier on in the competition.

With six minutes to go in the second half, Helmut Rahn pounced to give Germany a 3-2 victory and break Hungary's 31 match unbeaten run.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

What is more surprising is that they only won one, the hoors

They've never been to a major final that wasn't held at home. They do tend to overestimate their standing in world terms and though they almost always qualify they rarely come close to winning. The closest they came was probably Italia 90 when losing a penalty shoot out to Germany but even Ireland could compete on a level footing with that team. They've been very lucky with the tournament draws under Southgate yet have failed to capitalise.
