Watched two over the weekend:

American Fiction - clever and hilarious film. Good to see Jeffrey Wright in a leading role. Brilliant actor.

Napoleon - I enjoyed it, but was left a little unsatisfied with how much it (had to I guess) skipped or glossed over.

Christ alive.

Lol..exactly, who is he?

I've been on this board a long time, but I never really felt like I was getting old before! ;D

Never had much issue with McDowell or the PDs myself. I liked their social liberalism, and Ireland badly needed a voice for economic liberalism at that time.

Only thing you can say is thank f**k it happened in the middle of the night. That is a major route around Baltimore.

I wouldn't know where to start with Dylan.

I guess in terms of impact, Like A Rolling Stone would have to be there.

Its Not Dark Yet from the late 90s was a superb song.

Joey
Girl From The North Country
Masters of War
Tamborine Man
Man In The Long Black Coat
I Shall Be Released
Its All Over Now Baby Blue

You could another 40 at least which are top class

Finished two series over the weekend.

Masters of the Air – thought it was very well done, especially the air mission stuff. Those guys were put through the ringer. Robert Rosenthal ended up doing 52 B-17 missions, shot down three times, survived, and was part of the Nuremburg prosecution team!

The Dynasty – the series about the NE Patriots, or more specifically, Belichick and Brady. Not quite as in depth as something like The Last Dance, but I'd definitely recommend it. Bellichick comes across as an iron-fisted, emotionless genius for much of it (e.g. the 2019 Superbowl where he completely shut down the Rams powerhouse offense), which makes the Eagles Superbowl loss even more strange when he cruelly benched Malcolm Butler for not apparent tactical reason. Brady is a bit more open in his revelations, and quite likeable. You watch it and wonder what would have happened to Aaron Hernandez if he'd been drafted by a west coast team or if, later on, Bellichick had allowed him to be traded out west when he told him he needed to get away from New England and his old associates.

Quote from: Armamike on March 18, 2024, 11:28:29 AMBlew that one.  Man u were so poor that second half it seemed to lull Liverpool into a false sense of security.Age old lesson of football, when you have a team on the ropes, finish them.  Hopefully it will sharpen minds for the league game.

They both had 11 shots on target. United missed prob better chances than Liverpool. 2 from McTominay and 2 from Rashford also hojlund should've got on the end of a bruno cross. 2 deflected goals for Liverpool.

Yes, in the end, United certainly shaded it and deserved the win.

However, Liverpool played them off the park for most of the second half and had should have won it 4-1 or something.

That loss was Liverpool's own fault, no question about it.

Quote from: Ghost on March 17, 2024, 06:33:29 PMShould Klopp have taken Salah off? Was it over confidence or do his minutes need managed? Genuine question. I know when it went 2-2 I was glad he was off.

Salah didn't look sharp. He needs a few games to get back into the full swing of things. Should be good to for the rematch! ;D

Quote from: J70 on March 17, 2024, 04:23:39 PMGreat last ten from Liverpool in that half.

I'd be a wee bit upset with Fernandes on the second goal. Weak as f**k.
It was a foul

Get a grip.
Nah I think you're wrong.
If you get tackled from behind and knocked over, I think its a foul.

Looked side on to me, clean ball win. Ref agreed, VAR looked at it. Not the first time Fernandes has gone down like he's been shot looking for a soft free.

Your questions should be directed at him.

Enjoy the win.

Quote from: jcpen on March 17, 2024, 06:10:52 PMGreat game,Man United wanted it more, played like it was a Cup Final for them.
Liverpool probably be happier with 3 points in a few weeks.

United may have wanted it more, but they looked like a relegation side for half an hour in the second half. I don't think any of the hammerings Liverpool dished out to them in recent years were that one-sided in terms of owning the ball, but there was no urgency up front. They fucked up a 5 v 2 with ten minutes left!

We can only hope they go to OT in three weeks and make a statement, because that performance just reeked of arrogance.

No complaints about United winning that. Arrogant performance from Liverpool. Absolutely bossing the game but way too casual up front and then giving away two ludicrous goals near the end of extra time.
