Was there an offical proposal submitted ? On what basis should they not be relegated.

Yes a proposal to stave off relegation was put forward with promotion of Div2 winners, based on fact that they had county players unavailable.

U17's changed to 10.30am
Seniors at 6pm ( or alternative time if agreed)
A few Div 1 clubs threatened with relegation tried to save themselves by cancelling relegation! Not even a mention of Div 2 or 3 clubs.! Proposal dismissed as out of order.

Anybody any idea when phase two of the div one league starts...?

Next sunday

Asked league sec for fixtures to preview (S G).....No reply...

State secret......

There is an appeal in from Creggan which hasn't been finalised yet, therefore fixtures can't be finalised
Its either Creggan or Moneyglass which take the 6th position

More than likely will be Creggan and Moneyglass are planning for that scenario
All will be sorted this week, patience is a virtue

Decision due this evening !

Attendances have been shocking across the board of the warmest week of the year.
It's expensive to go to games.

If the product was worth it then money wouldn't matter. I was delighted with my decision not to go to Omagh yesterday.

Ticket pricing is a joke
£22 for a seat at Healy Park and £22 to stand on terracing.
No group game deals ? Doesn't add up to a fair deal at all

I have seen Derry being penalised this year  because the derry player entered the D to pick up the ball . It resultrd in a throw up.
I believe this is the correct interpretation of the rule.

if its a derry kick out, then yes.
The ball must travel 13metres before being touched by a player on the same team.

It doesn't have to travel 13 metres before being touched by an opponent, as long as the opponent was more than 13 metres away (i.e. outside the D for a kickout) when the ball was kicked.

This is the rule as per the current rule book.

QuoteIf the goalkeeper is not taking the kick-out, he shall stay in the small rectangle, and all other players, except the player taking the kick-out, shall be outside the 20m line, outside the semicircular arc and 13m from the ball until it has been kicked.

The ball shall travel not less than 13m and outside the 20m line before being played by another player of the defending team.

So an attacking player may run into the D and intercept theball while the defender must not attempt to prevent that happening.
I don't think so.
The ball has to  travel outside the D before anyone can touch it

David Cough must be wrong then  ::)

It makes sense once the opponent is 13m prior to kick. What would happen if the keeper miskicked it and it travels inside the D and stops? Of course the attacker can play ball and defender can't, otherwise the play would freeze or the keeper would get off with it. Same as if a free taker kicks a free short, once the opponent the distance away before the free taken, he can then move after the ball is struck.
Technically, the gk can kick it a second time !

That's not right... sarsfields have a significantly superior score difference to the team above them.

I am not sure what has happened with the games today but sarsfields Dunloy has a 0-0 result and I think sarsfields got the points so are on the same as gnm but too late. (I think they got the points anyway and not sure what it did with score difference)

The rules for a three team tie have changed from score difference to  a  'mini- league' between the three teams.  Sarsfields were beaten by the two other teams

Put a keeper off in sin bin lately. The opposition where giving off that the player who went into nets had to be wearing a keepers top!! This based on Tyrone game on TV the week before..

I explained that they didn't have to wear a keepers top, wearing the keepers top only gives the 'keeper' the rights of a keeper, nothing else. these people giving off are senior div 1 managers

Our seniors were playing 2 different lads in nets at different stages, neither were keepers. One made a run out and the other hung back in one game, possession lost and the one with the outfield jersey on that day tried to take the kick out but the ref didn't allow him to kick it because the other man had the keepers jersey on at half forward. Do you agree with that one?
I can see the keeper jersey going soon if the game keeps going like it is now, no advantage in it. If you like saving shots you may go to the soccer.
I'd be surprised if that one is in the rule book.
It is in official guide
If an outfield player takes the kick out, the rule states, the actual gk must stay on the goal line !

Anyone able to clarify promotion/relegation for each of the leagues?
2 automatically down in Div1 with only one coming up. Is that right? Div2?

Two down, 1 promoted from/ to Div 1&2 in football.

Watched the first 40 minutes, I didn't see one issue with cards, calls or sending offs, mouthing at the ref is a black card, he'll not do it again. Anyone trying to defend it, is wrong.

I yellow carded someone the other week for constantly trying to tell me how to ref, needless to say he was very quiet the rest of the game. Morgan didn't just mouth but ran over like a petulant child waving and jumping. Brilliant

The red card was easy, not sure why he even consulted other than conditions underfoot and was it a slip, that could only have been his get out, but nah, seen his opportunity and didn't pull out

So were the two third -man blocks on tyrone players in first half , not black cards ?

A decent game but lacked real intensity, Armagh should have saw the game out. Fine margins between both teams. Unfortunately, for Armagh , Ethan Rafferty is a far better outfield player than he is a GK. ( Goal today was terrible). He has no presence on the line, makes some poor GK decisions. Even in the penalties, he looked small in comparison to Lynch( who is a converted outfield player as well). Harsh but true!

The GAA trying to convince people that the idea of 3 qualifying from groups was to avoid dead rubbers when in reality it's for financial reasons especially with the 4 preliminary 1/4s.
I don't see how dead rubbers will definitely be avoided.

In Kerry's group, if the winner of Kerry-Mayo beats the winner of Louth-Cork in the 2nd game, with the loser of Louth-Cork also losing their 2nd game, then won't the final game between the team with 2 wins v the team with 2 losses be a dead rubber?
And the other game will essentially be a dead rubber, 2nd and 3rd will be decided, just which order.
Only the  GAA  could come up with preliminary quarter finals, complete nonsense, makes group stage less  appealing. One team knocked out ffs!  Same silly nonsense in Hurling as well.

What is the actual reason given for 10am games? I know there's an adult soccer league in Ballymena and surrounding areas with 10.15 starts on a Saturday morning which was to allow players to watch Ballymena United in the afternoon. Are the 10am games on days when Antrim play or what's the actual reason other than the Antrim board doing it to annoy football people obviously. 🙄

The matches were at 10am to allow the masses to attend the Antrim Senior Hurlers league games at Corrigan as well as supporting their club football.

why in the intermediate is there two groups of 7 teams can they not stretch it out to 4 groups

Does anyone know the set up? top 2 into semis?

2 groups in junior. last year top into semi finals and 2nd v 3rd in a quarter final

IMO bring back straight knock out. Groups brought in during covid as lack of league games

2 groups of 5 in IHC
Top 2 go to Semis

JHC
Top team  go to semis
2nd v 3rd  play off for semi spot
