;D good point

I see Givan closing a few small rural primary schools.
Demographics starting to kick in presumably.
Davy's given us a dream to cling to
We're going to bring home the SAM

I see one of the schools was in Lack.

Drove through it a few times on the way to Donegal, hardly see children in the street let alone adults.

Problem is local politicians are up in arms.  The schools are unsustainable, numbers wise.

I'd say if job was done right, he could close another 100 schools.

In Donegal there are loads of wee primary schools with very small numbers but because of geography, they're kept open.

Balnamore is only 2 & 1/2 mile outside Ballymoney, so there is school spaces nearby. Tried to go integrated, but way to late, not sure that area pull in any Catholics anyway.

One of those things that gets released on a Friday afternoon hoping not too many will notice.

With Paul Givan pulling rank to reject the school in Bangor becoming integrated, and already appointing his mucker Mervyn Storey as Chairman this latest appointment is no surprise in terms of the direction of travel the DUP are looking to take the education sector........backwards.

They'll be having Creationism in the curriculum soon if these chaps are in charge.

Yeah wondering how they square that at schools for 'them' it's even in the museum at Stranmills, embarrassing

This Lisneal college story seems to gathering some legs.

Literally couldn't be up to them at any point, they just can't appear to help themselves.

It will be interesting to see how it plays out or how deep the investigation goes. Will SF take a hard line approach in front of the cameras or use it as leverage behind closed doors to push casement or the likes.

Also saw a clip of ELP basically defending not accepting additional funding from the free state government as part of the north/south bodies for foras na gaeilge because it's an equal balance funding model and that would then mean it wouldn't be equally balanced......despite no need for the north to match the additional money.

Givan, Lyons and ELP all showing leopard like characteristics.

Hereiam

They are actively out now to make sure Catholic schools are under funded as they see this as the only way to ruin a generation.

and don't forget her husband is in the mix too.

He's CEO of the Education Authority who've been flat out lying to Garrett Hargan, the journalist whose investigating this and isn't for letting go anytime soon.

A total DUP stitch they've been at for years.

They can push the DUP all they like on Casement, but at the end of the day it's the British Government who aren't playing ball.  (Well thrashed out on the other thread).

Not enough to get Casement over the line by a long shot but rest assured there will be a trade off in return for SF not rocking the boat too much.

I see Tony Benny was basically telling the Executive to pull their finger out of their proverbial today https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0qw37kxn0po

........someday should tell him not to  hold his breath.

Wildweasel74
