What is that basketball game into one net? Seems a bit odd that it's like basketball where you don't have enough money to have two nets so everyone plays into one...

How in the feck is that an Olympic sport

Caught it this morning. If you're the defense and you intercept in the "zone" you need to go back out to go back in again and score.

I used to mess about with a friend growing up playing like this as he'd one net but not exactly what you'd expect in the olympics.

I would have the horse dancing nonsence and breakdancing to the list of 'how in the feck is that an Olympic sport'

Quote from: Truthsayer on August 02, 2024, 08:51:20 AMBoxing needs to sort itself out and not have a competitor eligible for one major competition and barred from another one. Any wonder the public is confused.

This where the nuances I referred to earlier come in to play. You either haven't bothered to consider them, have willfully disregarded them, or you're too thick to understand them. Take your pick.

This isn't about "boxing" sorting itself out. A sport cannot sort itself out. Only the governing bodies. Last year's competition was overseen by the thoroughly disreputable and disgraced IBA. The IOC (clue: the "O" stands for Olympic) initially suspended and subsequently terminated its recognition of the IBA. This Olympic competition is being directly overseen by the IOC.

It's almost, just maybe, as if you haven't the slightest f**king clue what you're on about.

I'd include Golf and Soccer in that list also. Maybe even Rugby 7s.

Did darts ever make it in??

Sure there used to be poems and painting.
I wanna have my kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames.

Seems she was born female, brought up female, etc., but has freakishly high levels of testosterone that make her good at boxing? Don't a lot of very good athletes have something unusual about them that make them abnormally good at what they do? Anyway, I heard Kellie Harrington beat her fairly recently, so it's not as if she's invincible.

Really?

Often wondered why hurling couldn't be in it... Poc fada, or something. They also have one version of handball, but do they have the GAA version?

Indeed. Take a look at the captain of the USA women's rugby 7s.
