So what happens if Clonoe draw and Cookstown and Carrickmore both win? That will leave 3 teams on the same points, and if you say that points difference cant be used to decide playoff places as Cookstown conceded a game, how will they work out which 2 teams qualify? I would punish Cookstown for not fulfilling the fixture which could cause this problem. There is no reason for a team who are going well in the league (as well as reserves) to concede a senior game, with the only penalty being losing the game.

You couldn't punish Cookstown because the original fixture was played only to be abandoned after serious injury to Niall Sludden.  Dromore were well in front with only 10/15 minutes remaining. Take a good look at this because it may never ever be said again but cookstown did the decent thing conceding the re-fixture.  As I said not many a man said that about cookstown.  Just ask Clonoe  ;D ;D

No doubt they done the honourable thing however from memory if the game had finished when sluddden got the injury cooktown would be minus another 8 points leaving the score difference between them and Carmen much tighter and decisive at this stage of the season so really the conceding of points has helped cookstown has it not?

I asked the same question earlier in the year.

It might not mean much if the player is not as influential but rouse (due to cavanaghs limited games) as I believe has been moys best player this year.

Enjoyable game. I thought Ardboe were going to take it when they went ahead in the second half but fair play to Trillick for coming back at them.
Maybe I don't know enough about Ardboe football but thought there were some questionable tactics by their management.
Brian McGuigan operating at 14
Frank McGuigan only getting approx 10mins
Taking Big McConville off when ball was needed around the middle
What is wrong with Kyle Coney?

Matthew Donnelly was quieter tonight but still had a decent game.
I left on 30 mins - was there another Ardboe man lined after that? What happened?

thought we did well yesterday against kildress and had a strong 2nd half showing - compared to a lot of our league games this season in which we have died in the 2nd half.

think we finished the game with 5 minors playing which augurs well for the future.

what did others think of the ref?

brackaville will be very tough opposition in the 1/4 finals, they should have been beat by pomeroy and dungannon in recent games but they hung in there and got the results needed. the roes will also be looking to avenge the championship defeat from 3 years ago. should be a great game!

Gareth Devlin the star of the show reading reports?

i thought mickey mulgrew at midfield was motm.

yes gareth played well too and kildress probably have a right to feel aggrieved that he was playing, but it wasnt our fault.
the trillick ref in league game v rock put down the wrong devlin in his report and therefore cathal devlin (an important player for us too) has had to serve the 4 week suspension instead.

our club came clean to the county board and said that it should be gareth that should serve the suspension - but they said nothing could be done about it as gareth wasn't the one cited in the report.

Congratulations to stewartstown and Kildress certainly won't be complaining about Gareth Devlin incident earlier in the season. We Simply weren't good enough on the day.

I was talking to some players from our club though and from what they said s' town behaviour was unbelievable! Good luck to them but at the end of the day there's a line when winnings involved and u shouldn't cross it!

Brolly wannabe!!!!

Inspired post - care to elaborate?

I've haven't seen EC Unique loss the run of himself on this board before but I think he has here!

Me thinks he could be a Kavanagh!   :-\

Turning point - cooper kicking cooper to stop him getting in for goal and the ref not issuing the appropriate yellow card and leaving dubs with 15 for rest of game!

Very enjoyable game all the same.

Where did that 2004 team go? Did the likes of Boggs, Murray, Mulgrew not make the level of progress expected? I think Cunningham was the captain of that side.  The 2008 team could go the same way. McKenna, Gervin, Teague are three lads that I thought stood out along with with Coney and Harte.  Where have these fella's gone?

Derry haven't set the world alight at minor level since we got to the final in 2007, but the likes of Kielt, McKaigue, O'Boyle, Mullan, McWilliams, Moore. Have all made appearances at senior level in the last couple of years.

We didn't do too badly out of the 2008 team, Harte, Donnelly, McNabb, Coney & McKenna (for a while).

IMO McKenna was a serious midfield prospect - if he had of been handled right. Great hands and a ridiculous leap on him (50 times the footballer of colm cavanagh)

Thanks Clarshack, that makes it all ok then  8) lol

was a yellow card at most anyway imo. gareth's reputation got him sent off and not the actual offence itself.

If drawing your boot off a defender who is carrying the ball out of defence while Stewartstown were defending a one point lead in injury time is only a yellow card offence then I guess you're right Clarshack! Never mind the fact that if said referee had any balls Gareth and his nephew Cathal would have been sent off long before that incident for continually roaring and swearing the referees face!

Who was the ref?

Youtube that Banged Up Abroad in Peru, watched it last night and was very interesting.

Read the article in the Irish Mail on Sunday and then decided to watch banged up abroad show above - looks like the exact same thing could of happened. Either that or IMoS journalist just copied that story.

I think someone should show the girls this documentary as the only thing they can do now is damage limitation - co operate and get lighter sentences.

I think they may have been going through same emotions as these American girls i.e. okay we were caught but we are still going to go home cause we weren't behind it. They may have came down to earth with a bang by now.
