General discussion / Re: TV Show recommendations

Watched the first episode of The Flight Attendant. Seems promising.

Halfway through... itís intense and slick and funny in parts Iím enjoying it though and the wife as well so thatís always a bonus!!
Itís actually better than promising, it is very good and Kaley Cuoco is fantastic in it. I was ready for episode 2 but Mrs. Baloney took herself to bed and I was told not to watch it!

This why myself and the other half rarely watch stuff together. I can run through 3 or 4 episodes at the drop of a hat while one episode does her..... In fact if it was a lazy night in front of TV she'd watch single episodes of multiple different series back to back driving me insane  :o My poor wee brain can't compute more than one cliffhanger at a time.

Probably should have posted this on the what grinds your gears thread....

I have lost momentum with so many shows because of this. We ended up having maybe one show at a time that we are watching together, then a whole load of shows that fall into her only or me only categories!

I never realised how much Bwyson looks like TinTin

His head also looks like an egg - more than Stephen Donnelly does

David, you should consider giving legal advice professionally, you could make money out of it!

Anyone watch Your Honor, not sure what to make of it tbh. Can't say I enjoyed it or hated it. 6/10 at best

Really enjoyed the first few episodes, thought it trailed off a bit. Solid 6 or 7/10.

Anyone watched Zero Zero Zero yet? Just about to start

When you think about it Tyrone sorta killed Armagh that day. The applechompers never really won a big game in Croke Park fairly since then....15 years ago.
That is what happens when teams fade into mediocrity, as Tyrone are now learning

We are a long long way off Armagh standard yet.

Probably following a Meath/Sean Boylan model of decline with the same failure to refresh.  Takes a little longer but still inevitable.

Funny that since the exchange, Tyrone have reached an AIF and a semi final. We haven't gone away you know.

3 years later and an O'Neill windup is still paying dividends. Some of the more recent wums could learn a lesson

Officially now a crisis.  Klopp and the players look devoid of any ideas whatsoever.  Can't keep losing games like this.  Extremely worrying how the management haven't been able to find a way to halt this nightmare run.
Itís just astonishing they keep playing exactly the same way every single game. Surely they have to try something different.

At least he tried 4 4 2 late on. Maybe he's finally realising the 4 4 3 system is done with our full backs in this form.

The worst part of the 4 4 3 is how you can't have a goalie

We've followed some bad Dublin sides in the 90s and 00s but we still went to the games. I remember losing a league final to cork in Pairc Ui Caoimh in the pissing rain when there were more dubs fans there than cork fans. It's a sad state of affairs when people will only go to games they know their team will win. That's so childish it's actually funny.

Yeah and i was at league games in Parnell Park.
Lucky you.

I wish all the dubs home League games were in parnell park. There were some cracking matches there over the years. I remember a Meath supporter throwing a cup of tea at Whelo and Whelo having to be held back from going up into stand after the person.
I remember the time James Nallen lost the rag with Whelo and followed him about 30 yards up the field to give him a good box on the lug. I didn't see what Whelo did to annoy Jimmy but he had floored one of the Mayo backs.
I was told by the guy next to me that it was a clumsy tackle rather than a dirty one but Nallen must have thought otherwise.

When was this? Doesn't sound like Jimmy Nallen and I'd say your memory is playing tricks.

I remember in the 2006 semi, Whelo taking McGarrity out of it with a box in the side of the face. McGarrity got replaced by Barry Big Bird. I believe Brady put Whelan on his arse when he came on.

The stuff on the last couple of pages of this thread is poisonous shite that no one wants to read.

Petty, repugnant flame wars waged by self obsessed, attention craving c***ts not only bore the shite out of the rest of us, but destroy the opportunity for others to develop a real discussion.

And this crap isn't just contained here, it's flung all over the board to the extent that practically every popular thread reeks of it.

If our new mod is going to let things like this fly then the board is as good as done. Moderating an internet forum is about cultivating an environment that encourages contributors to produce the content for which we're all here. The environment about this place at the minute is toxic and inhospitable.

+ as many as you like. The 2 have over 2600 posts this year alone!

third or fourth poor effort at a WUM in your first 30 odd posts.

It is better when there is some nuance in the windup - or if you build up some sort of online presence of non-WUM posts first so people believe you when you go for the windup

Watched the game and West Brom had chances to score another but Utd dominated a game but were left to rue chances they should have took.

Slab head at the end unlucky on 95 minute not to score.

Rashford needs a rest, abysmal today
That'll be an invitation for the Spectator to incite a racist pile on against him, like they need any invitation

So donít say he was abysmal?

I'm sure sid is well able to answer for himself, but I would imagine he is suggesting the Spectator article is coming because Rashford was abysmal, not because you wrote a post on gaaboard saying so

I haven't seen anyone taking glee at Klopp's current situation (not saying its not out there, just its a function of who you follow on social media I guess).

I have seen a lot of people referring to posts, but most of them seem to be referring to Liverpool fans.

I donít even think itís errors as such anymore. Heís slow coming out to meet players now I think. And positioning seems to have failed him at times.

He was always slow coming out and his positioning always poor. He showed again tonight his lack of bravery. I never rated him. Iím totally sick of it.

Why have you never mentioned this?

I see the Southampton player has had his Red card overturned after being sent off because of Martial diving.

It was a dive. Not surprising.

Will they be chalking off the goal? Would only be fair on Southampton

has this ever happened?
