The young lad was looking a new hurling helmet.

Couldnt get over the price of them when i went down the shop. €76 for the mycro ones. Someone then pointed me to Smyths Toys where they are selling helmets for €37.50.
Good price but a make i was unfimiliar with. Aspis is their brand name. Looked up the gaa website and they are approved by them. http://www.gaa.ie/tickets-and-merchandise/approved-suppliers/

Anyone shed any light if they are any good? or are the mycro ones that better quality (twice the prioce!!)?

Croí na hÉireann

Try ringing them (mycro), got a better deal a couple of years ago when I rang them than was on their website

If you're the member of a club, then try them as most helmets bought through clubs are subsidised by the county boards, well they are in Down.
i think I bought the young fella a helmet for £35 last year.

That's still more expencive than the Aspis one before the CB forks out on top of it.
