About 30 years ago, actually.

Who's brain fart was it to put the cavan limerick game on at 4pm on Saturday, if that wasnt bad enough we will have to avoid traffic heading to some rugby match. All club games moved in the county too. Thanks to the powers that be.

Request from Limerick county board, apparently.

Limerick is far enough away without it being brought to NewcastleWest.

The way the city is bypassed nowadays you'd be in Newcastlewest nearly as quickly as the Gaelic Grounds anyway.

Down folk were delighted to be in Breffni Park when they played Sligo there in 2010. No complaints from Donegal people in 2012 & 2011.

Breffni is as handy for both as Clones is, with better facilities outside and inside the ground.

Massive respect for his achievements, but Jim is starting to make Kieran McGeeney look like Johnny Pilkington.

T'wasn't the only daylight robbery in Croke Park that day, or since...

Total non-story. There are drunken layabouts in every town every day, just waiting to mouth off (or worse) to anyone who doesn't know to steer clear. They never make the news.

Con happened to attend the Hillsborough Disaster game back in 1989 and he wrote touchingly and memorably about it.

Con Houlihan once said "there's no such thing as a middling spud, it's either a good spud or a bad spud".

What an epitaph.

RIP

We're living in a litigious age, where anyone who picks up a bump or bruise of any sort is likely to look for a solicitor to put in a claim for compensation.

After any big game, there's a bigger risk of getting hit or injured outside Croke Park or Clones (most commonly by a drunken skanger or panhandler) than on the pitch.
Agreed but out on the street, it's a matter for the gardai, not the GAA.

My point is that we don't see loads of people suing the gardai or the councils on foot of such incidents, although they do happen.

This survey is ridiculously bad. It's riddled with leading questions. And even though I am way too old to be playing any level of competitive football, it won't allow me to complete the survey unless I tell them porkies by answering " What do you dislike about Gaelic football as a player?:"
