Just to get something straight.  This asshole Carter has went and taken one of the best songs of the last 10 years, (Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show, with a part of the chorus actually written by Bob Dylan) and f**king annihilated it.  He deserves a fart in the mouth.

Assuming we can agree that it's not Wagon Wheel and that anyone suggests otherwise deserves a fart in the mouth....what is the best song since 2003?

P.S. Do us a favour....if you put up a youtube link, title it and save people having to click the link only to be disappointed with the suggestion  >:(

P.P.S. What's the chances of a consensus being reached rather than everyone naming just naming their own favorite? Asking a bit much?:P

I would struggle to name many good songs in the last ten years. Music has been destroyed by manufactured bands and reality television talent shows. The children of today will buy any rubbish most of them are told what to buy through multimillion pound advertisements.

Bring back the 60s,70s,80s or 90s when music meant more than just money.

This guy's music is really growing on me. Best of the last 10 years, maybe not. But like Captain Obvious it is hard to pick anything outstanding.

Agree with Capt Obvious. I'd struggle to pick out even one half decent song, never mind a great one. The music of today is absolutely brutal. And I don't think it's a case of growing older, tastes changing etc. It honestly is that bad.

'Music isn't what it used to be'. Bullshit. Maybe if your source of music is the X Factor and commercial radio stations. There's endless good music out there. Thinking of the last few years - The National, Villagers (already mentioned), Phoenix, Richard Hawley,Doves, James Vincent McMorrow, Bat For Lashes, Bright Eyes, Ryan Adams, Arcade Fire, TV On The Radio, The Gaslight Anthem...
the list is endless.

This might be just inside the 'Ten Years'. Springsteen 'The Rising'.

Questions that shouldn't be asked shouldn't be answered

The National playing Belfast in November.  Can't see them filling the Odyssey mind you.
