I thought it was daft but as it appears they only opened the stand (capacity ~5000) with "the entertainment" on the field then 3,500 would seem reasonable. Like any GAA event there were probably hundreds that got free tickets.

This is what I'd call a great crowd at a gig in a GAA stadium ... 40,000 at Siamsa in Pairc Ui Chaoimh ... ah the 80's ...
