Just coming up to St Paddy's Day brings back memories of watching McCrory Cup finals then the club finals? What are some people's best memories, hard to top Kevin Dyas and Marty Clarke's battle in the 2005 final. Two superb players at that age level.
That was the 2006 final. Remember it well myself for all the wrong reasons, standing on the edge of the Casement Park field waiting to run on for final celebrations then the Abbey scored that last minute goal to win it.

Think they spray stuff on their hands as well.
It's probably called 'Grip-N-Go', or something.
I know they have banned a certain substance that used to make their hands very sticky. Im pretty sure there was an Gaelic glove designed maybe 5 years ago or so that came with a dry and a wet version that looked similar to the American gloves as they were a very similar fit with no visible latex grip.

GAA Discussion / American Football gloves in GAA

Just a thought that came into my head today but would the american football style gloves be any use for catching a gaelic football when you see the types of catches the americans can pull off. The likes of under armour, nike etc don't specify the type of grip used on their gloves, whilst the Irish companies would use standard latex.

Any idea in what caused such a terrible 1st half? Conditions don't appear to be too bad, though the pitch looks a little heavy. Must be a bit of nerves for both teams

great result. will do wonders for the lads confidence

if we can beat Clare at esler then it would be div 2 safety secured with games away to Tipp and Meath and a final home game v Cavan
Tipp game is at home and cavan game is away

Sounded like a hard battling win with Roscommon pushing on in the 3rd quarter. One more win should ensure safety and who knows what else after that as the league seems to be very tight. I think for this season to be a successful one Burns has to find a way of getting Harrison and O'Hare playing together as they are comfortably our 2 best attackers with O'Hagan not far behind

Paddy McBrearty's performance reminded me of Stevy O'Neill in full flow. He was totally unmarkable in the second half. Can't believe he didn't get MotM.

Those Michael Murphy frees completely took the wind out of Donegal's sails, can't believe they gave them to a sub who hadn't even got a chance to stretch his legs. I wonder was that a management calll or Murphy himself?
You could see Paddy McBrearty showing murphy the ball as he was coming on signalling more that paddy wanted murphy to hit the free

Did it annoy anyone else that Down didn't wear their home jersey. Is there a rule where both teams have to wear away strips or are they under orders to drive up sales of new away jersey?

sure thats one of the things i hate about the all stars, dean rock getting the #10 spot considering he played in the full forward all year is a kick in the stones to anyone that did play at half forward

Would anyone here have some down yearbooks from 2005 to 2007 and be willing to part with them?

Anyone hear Frank Dawson got the sack from Ballymartin during the week?
Heard that last night anyone confirme?
What club team in Down will take him next year?
Heard he walked before he was pushed. For someone who is getting paid to manage clubs he surely has a very poor recent record since the late 00's/ early 10's.

If Sean gets fouled why would he not go down?
Show me any instance where he has went down when there has been no contact?

One of the most honest players in the game - because he goes down when contact has been made with him does not make him a serial diver  ::)

I recorded the game and watched it later in the evening. Don't think I fast forwarded once during the whole game. Mighty stuff.

I wish I'd thought to do the same!
I recorded it on both RTE and the BBC just to see the difference in vibe between the 2 stations.
As for the penalty decision, a monaghan player got a free in the 1st half when a down man was on the ground by simply falling over him so it was fair to give the penalty
