Armagh's push to stay in Division Two has been rocked by a one-match suspension for captain Ciaran McKeever.

The Armagh skipper was reported by referee Eddie Kinsella for interfering with free-taker Brian White towards the end of the narrow defeat by Louth.

McKeever did not play due to injury but stood near White as the free was taken.

McKeever is now ruled out of Sunday's crucial Division Two league clash against Galway - which Armagh must win to avoid relegation.

Louth scored three points in injury-time to snatch a vital 1-12 to 1-10 victory over in the Athletic Grounds on March 16.

Brian White hit a penalty wide near the end of the game but converted a difficult sideline free in the first minute of stoppage time to level the scores.

Prior to taking the kick, there was a minor scuffle along the sideline which was broken up by the Laois referee.

The sides were level nine times in the local derby but Louth finished strongly with late points from Shane Lennon and substitute Cathal Byrne after White's equaliser.

After the game Louth manager, and former Armagh All-Ireland winner, Aidan O'Rourke said: "Brian White is made of the right stuff.

"To miss the penalty and then step up and take that free - I don't think anyone else on the pitch would have kicked that point. Huge credit to him."

The result had a major bearing on league positions in Division Two.

Armagh are one point adrift of Wexford and Louth heading into Sunday's final round of games and must beat Galway to have any chance of retaining Division Two status.

'Sweeping reforms' for planning 

Mr Poots said the changes would make the planning system more proactive
The environment minister has said planning in Northern Ireland is set to undergo its "most sweeping reform" for 30 years.

Edwin Poots spoke on Thursday after the Executive passed a package aimed at delivering a more effective system.

He told the Royal Town Planners the changes would "affect almost every aspect of the planning system".

They will also address the transfer of the majority of planning functions to local government.

"I believe these changes offer us an unprecedented opportunity to transform our mainly regulatory planning system into a more proactive, co-ordinated and responsive system which will help to enable appropriate sustainable development," said Mr Poots.

The Assembly still has to vote on the reforms, which then have to become law so it could be some time before the transformation of the service becomes a reality.


Are we going to see a 'free for all' here with houses going up everywhere now,

The Hoors are just about 3 years too late making this decsion, it cost me a fortune trying to get planning permission passed, turned down, changed this, changed that.

but now it seems the decision wil be down to the local councillors who will/should get the applications passed in order to get votes. 

Was wondering has anyone on here ever won anything in a competition, i enter a lot of competition, be it in the Newspaper, phone ins, Emails and texts, but can honestly say i have never won anything. was just thinking to myself i wonder is there anyone on the board who has won anything and what is the biggest or best thing won by any of our members,

What is the craic here, they arent going to get sympathy from me, the whole country is in Economic turmoil and these whores are striking and holding a gun to the countrys head over the post. yes i know they are Post Office are changing their working hours, roles, conditions etc, but in reality whos jobs hasnt really changed since this recession started with redundancies, and cutbacks,

They should be glad to have a job coz i'll you tell you what there are 1000s of people right throughout the UK who would love to have a job,

and another thing there are a lot people out there who are waiting for very important post e.g Hospital apppointments, letters from GPs etc. there has been no consideration given to these people at all

[MLAs set to get £500 salary rise]

MLAs set to get £500 salary rise 
 
An independent body is expected to recommend a pay increase for assembly members of about 3.5% - a far lower figure than predicted.

The Senior Salaries Review Body report is due to be published later this week.

According to an assembly source, the body has recommended MLAs get a £500 a year increase, bringing them to about three quarters of an MP's salary.

It is also thought it is recommending a cut in the mileage rate paid to assembly members for official travel.

It is also said to be questioning the level of office cost allowances paid to assembly members who are also MPs.

At the start of the year an internal assembly document obtained by the BBC predicted a pay rise of 16% for MLAs.

The Senior Salaries Review Body recommends pay levels for MPs at Westminster, Stormont assembly members and their counterparts in Scotland and Wales.


Whats peoples thoughts on this? Personally i would have give them a pay cut, they didnt exactly do a big pile, anyone agree?

Does anyone know how i can delete everything ever searched on googled, everytime i type the 1st letter of whatever i am looking for it brings up the last thing that was searched for beginning with that letter,

Well Lads, Doing the deed in July 09, and thought that we have plenty of time to getting everything sorted, but it turns out that a Wedding Band is turning out to be a real pain in the ass. they are all either booked or asking for crazy money. Looking for someone that will be able to play for the old Fogies (The waltzes and jives) and the young ones (Anything at all, coz they wont remember the next morning anyway). Any suggestions?
