A resounding "yes" or a load of blank ballot papers stuffed in the boxes?
For the record I'm voting "Yes" in this one.
GAA Discussion / Connacht U21 Championship 2015
October 23, 2014, 10:54:10 AM
Just to stop the Rhus and Syfín resurrecting the 2014 thread.
We would hope to be strong in this grade again next year.
The Irish International Rules Team are hosting an open Training Session in the Connacht GAA Centre tomorrow at 7.30pm & on Saturday at 10.30 and all are invited to attend.

Once again the team will be managed by Roscommon native Paul Earley and the event is a good opportunity for supporters to see the players ahead of next month's big game against Australia in Perth.

I always knew the PrentyArena would have its uses  :)

Now Jinxy etc can have a month or 6 weeks to see whi can run this thingy down the most. ;D

Hurling Discussion / Future of Hurling ??
February 12, 2014, 01:40:00 PM
Eddie Keher and Brian Cody want red and yellow cards abolished in hurling.
Liam O'Neill to establish a forum for debate about the future of hurling.
What's going on here?
Politeness to a fault
Treasures education
Seeing the following in the SF/PSNI I thought it best to set up a thread so EG could indeed comment on this subject. ;)

I suspect there may be other threads which deal with Policing and Parades etc.

Quote from Nally Stand Today ar 20:39
And if there were, I'm sure you would be all over such threads, busily condemning the behaviour of the bands for breaking the law in full view of the police yet again at the weekend

General discussion / Death of Ruairi Ó Brádaigh
June 05, 2013, 07:11:41 PM
Long time Roscommon resident Ruairi has passed away.
R I P.

Will any of the Sinn Féiners on the GAAboard have any comments or did Ruairi become a non person in 1986?

He was steadfast in his views anyway ... his only problem was that the rest of the world and Irish Nationalism and republicanism were all out of step with him.
I know most of the Ulster folk who form the majority on this board have no regard for the Int Rules game but a great honour for Paul and Roscommon to see him chosen as Irish team manager.
Comhgáirdeachas Paul and best of luck to one sound chap.
GAA Discussion / British Imperialism at it again?
October 11, 2012, 02:17:00 PM
Kilkenny now part of Britain   :o :o :o ;D
Time to get this up and running now that we know the 8 teams who are in it plus we already know two of the Quarter Final Pairings.
( Syferus - please don't come on motivating the other 7 by telling them that we're the best team in it with the best defence , best midfield and best forwards -  >:()

GAA Discussion / All Ireland U21 Championship 2012
April 11, 2012, 07:10:34 PM
Nice to be raising this topic  8)
Saturday week we'll have :
Ros v Cavan/Tyrone
Dublin v Cork/Kerry.
A Ros/Cavan game would be a cert for Pearse Park while if it's Tyrone no doubt they will try and drag us to Breffni. Hopefully we'll fight for a neutral Leinster Venue.
Dublin v Cork will be Portlaoise while a Dub/Kerry tie likely to go to Limerick as Kerry never seem to be made travel outside their own Province for  non Senior All Irl games.

GAA Discussion / Connacht SFC 2012
September 02, 2011, 09:57:01 PM
As there seems to be very little interest in the incestuous love in on 18th September I thought it was time to start thinking about the real Championship.
Whose turn is it to play London and New York ?
Can Galway and Sligo up their game next year and put it up to the Big 2?
I think a trip through the Qualifiers is what we need next year .
Surprised there hasn't been some reaction to the "fudge" report of the  6 Cos /NI *Police Ombudsman to the murders of the 6 people in Loughanisland in 1994.
Seems the then RUC decided that there was a hierarchy of murder victims and only some were worth seriously investigating.
Meanwhile there was "no evidence of collusion between Security forces and (the obviously Loyalist/Unionist) murderers ".
Did he expect to find a file marked "collusion" in the RUC archives?
Result of this fudge will be more distress to relatives , an ongoing campaign for a proper enquiry which will be held  eventually at 5 times the cost of a proper investigation now.

He's at it again ...
" MICKEY Harte continues to argue for change, so that provincial football champions who lose All-Ireland quarter-finals get a second chance. But why the silence from so many of his fellow managers? Most of them believe the current system is unfair but aren't nearly as vocal as Harte. Do they not realise the power they are capable of exerting? Some can wipe out club fixture programmes for months during the summer; if they got together on a national issue one suspects it wouldn't be long before change emerged.

Harte's case has unchallengeable logic. But having lost out amid a flood of spurious counter-arguments at Congress last year, there seems no great appetite to re-visit it, which is odd. Surely, history shows that persistence is the key to getting change in the GAA."

Can this floot ever get it into his head that this nonsense is a non runner?
