Quote from: Champion The Wonder Horse on Today at 08:06:59 PMThat's the very least Derry deserve.

Cawley killed us.

As always, most of the blame would have sat on the team. The one McGuigan snatched at that the camera missed was criminal. Then he got caught waiting for the ball in the far corner and got turned over badly.

He also took the focus 2 / 3 Mayo men most of the game, covered every blade of grass, blocked, had the balls to go for it. His work rate has been back to the levels we expect today.

Big 20 now

Quote from: bennydorano on Today at 10:59:40 AMShadow boxing all over and the real shit should start today, thinking all week it looks nailed on for Tyrone, Mayo and Galway with the only game hard to call Louth v Cork. But, there could be a surprise somewhere, can't see it happening in Castlebar, I'd honestly say Mayo will be a step up for Derry, don't see how it ends well for them, although they've really nothing to lose at this stage. Galway & Tyrone handicaps at -4 pts at evens or so look like gifts imo.

Seriously Benny?  ;D

Medicine for what? If that's a red card the game is gone...
Did he not punch someone off the ball? Haven't seen it.

Saw the video. The cork player tries to drag conn down then he hits him in the chest. Conn gives a slap to his stomach and gets sent off.

Not sure how to post the video here

Yeah whatever about the league sending off, this was a stonewall correct decision on the red.

Baffled as to how it got over-turned as it's clear as day in the video that he struck the Cork player.

What the Cork player did should be a straight red card offence with an automatic two match ban well.

There should be no excuse for pulling down (or in this case trying and failing to pull down) a player off the ball.

The GAA disciplinary process continues to be an absolute joke.

99 times out of a 100 the instigator will get off scot free

21 hours extra rest and a 4 hour journey, probably no great advantage.

Down the day before, full spa treatment, yoga...? 🤔

Seaweed baths, climb the reek, Mickey lead the rosary at Knock?

Quote from: Mario on June 19, 2024, 01:59:49 PMI don't think it's a big decision. McEvoy will be 6, that's were Harte has played him all year. Mckinless will be wing half back. There is zero chance Baker gets dropped, he set up two goals v Westmeath and has been playing very well.

The total dismissing of Derry has been winding me up in the build up. Listening to podcasts talking about who will face Mayo in the quarters etc. I suppose we've only ourselves to blame but it's a knockout game, very close to 50/50 with bookies. I would love it if we clicked again on Sat night. I'm expecting the strongest Derry line up we've seen in a while

Why would that wind you up? It's just opinions based on what people have been seeing. Two months ago Derry were being hyped up as AI contenders based on what people had seen. If you go down to Castlebar and beat Mayo, the big headlines will be "Derry are back" and how no one will want them in the quarter final! That's the nature of sport. At the very worst, Derry can take the perceived dismissals and use them for motivation, but you must admit that Derry have a lot to prove and Mayo are a tough, established Div 1 level side.

Confident the players will put in a serious shift and put it up to Mayo. Tbh, even if we were firing on all cylinders, playing Mayo down in Castlebar would be a serious challenge with only a kick of a ball in it.
I'd start an extra 'defender' and keep the game as close as possible. Mayo come out of the blocks quickly (which they don't often do) we could be in bother. Mayo usually like to treat their fans to a, stressful swashbuckling finale reeling in the opposition. This could be a real clinker of a game

Quote from: Silver hill on June 20, 2024, 09:26:02 PMLads, the reason for the slump is because effectively Derry are without a manager at present. Harte offers nothing on the sideline, doesn't open his mouth in the dressing room and leaves all the training to Devlin. There are a number of players with whom he has had zero interaction with. As in, he has never spoken to. Players are not stupid, they see things with their own eyes. They smell the bullshit. Gallagher believed and invested his soul into Derry and the players responded in kind. Harte is an imposter and shame on our County board for appointing him.

Brolly in as your ghost writer? That's some diatribe on the eve of the Mayo game.. Serves no one but yourself

I'm sorry if it upset you to read that

Why on earth would it upset me? Margaret's prediction holds as much weight as Laoisman11's.

I have no idea, fragile confidence? Why do you think it upset you?

What county are you from that you're fit to belittle a national title? I'd say your trophy war chest is worth the viewing

Up the NFL!

Knew from your posting on here over the years that you had some Mayo connection.  I'd say she'll be closer to the margin than Laoisman11's stats model.

Margaret is a Derry woman, half Donegal right enough. My connection to Mayo is purely from the heart... I'll have a caravan there some year
