If the DUP had any shame there would be a few members today with a red face. Looking at you Peter, Gregory, Willie and Jim.

That unfortunately is the most unlikely if of all time. :(

Another good article with insight from the physio. The Maldini plan in Munster is interesting.

Should put it into the Hastings Cup thread - would be a good education for some
That's the magic cure - ban the Hastings cup ::)

The Uachtarain signs loads of Bills into Law. He can only call the Council of State to advise him if he's concerned about Constitutionality of a Bill. Not because SF or loony lefties think he should.

If Indiana is against it - then I'm all for keeping the Hastings Cup competition. ;D He seems to be against everything these days.
Long may Hastings  last.

Completely agree but it won't happen. I've said for years that we should be happy to have the best amateur sporting organisation in the world and should stop trying to professionalise something that can't get there.
+1 Indy
Too many people seeing the GAA as the cash cow nowadays. The more people on the payrole, the more the organization is driven by money rather than focusing on whats good for the majority of the organisation
Where does the "professionalise" come into the suggestion?
Counties are already spending money on training, managers, back rooms, travel etc. Problem is some have so much more than others and not surprising one othe "haves" - Indy- is against it.

As for the "good of the organisaton" vs "money" - i would have thought that the more money we can get the better for the organisation.
Otherwise why are we charging admission to games etc?

Silly season for the GAA but this is pathetic.
+1.
Why not use up the space in the paper with  silly qoutes or tweets of the year.

I was in Casement for the Ros/Antrim NFL game in 2013 and with only 600 at the game I had to park in a narrow enough residential street - 5 or 600 metres away at least - jam packed with cars.
The whole area looked pretty built up to me so where will the 38,000 get room to park?
Comparisons with English soccer are not valid as most of their crowds are local and come by public transport.

Happy Christmas to all the rest of Connacht (even Rhus - but not to Ballaghrhus) and let all feelings of goodwill end from 2nd January and let battle thenceforth commence.

This has more to do with the wide open space between the ears of those talking about it.

Sorry if this topic doesn't float your boat Muppet, maybe you should read some of the more interesting threads instead ;)

Sorry I should have put the word 'writing', rather than 'talking', as I really meant the journalists who always refer to it as the 'wide-open spaces' of Croke Park.
+1. Lazy sports "journalism" at its worst.
Mind you Prenty McHale park  must barely qualify for minimum length - there seems to be only a metre or 2 between the 65 and the halfway lineen.

Does this mean all the Summer tourist players on the semi pro US circus will get better pay?

How many Ulster titles did Cavan win in the days when their only opposition was Antrim or occasionally Monaghan? 40+
And how many AIs did they win?

PS - this is not to be taken as any endorsement of anything to do with Kerry - other than John Evans and John Kearns of course.

Earlier this year "Reeling in the years"had 2001 on. Following a report that the then 14 Other EU Finance Ministers wrote to the Irish Government  warning them about their Budgetary Policy. It was followed by a guffawing McCreevy "If the rest of Europe would do the same as us Europe would be a better place "

Its easy for players to demand this man and that man. In my club we had this bull for years. The same players wont put their hand in their pocket or wont do any fundraising. Its always left to someone else. They have had won a few championships but when they lose its the managers fault and they want him gone to be replaced by someone more high profile every year.
that would be a great club if it wasn't for them pesky players eh? :P
